Hi Mohamed,

The light on her face is from the Nikon SB80DX flash-unit. I corrected the standard computer values a little bit, to get the desired light.
Because I got this unit a few months ago, I stille have to learn a lot about all these possibilities by this computer-combination.

Friendly greetz,
Albert

Hi dear Srna,

Thanks for your nice comment. Not a veteran but still a starter, to my opinion.

I now know better what I have to learn and what's there to improve, after 5 modelshoots.

But I enjoy being busy with portraits and trying to learn, each day. So I think in the end (1 or 2 years) I will succeed to shoot more interesting (street)portraits.

Warm greetz,
Albert

Hi dear Mary,

I am glad you like it and that it awakened these memories. Augusto the partner of Stella gave it to us form his beautiful garden, after he had seen some macroshots of me. I simply couldn't resist this beautiful flower and took a lot of photos of it. At this one I sprenkled some waterdrips on it to suggest a fresh morningshot.
As background I added a white table to bring a quiet peaceful shot.

Warm greetz,
Albert

Hi dear Shirley,

Thanks for your kind words. I like this one also.
When we left we gave a framed enlarged shot of this shot to Stella and Augusto. It was a flower from their garden, he brought me after he had seen some of my macro shots.
They gave us the day we left 5 liters of selfmade wine. It's nice when you can use different skills to please eachother. We had a wonderful time in Italy and keep in contact with these people. It's precious when you feel sympathy, connections and mutual interests, the key ingredients for friendship. Btw Stella learned us how to prepare flowers of which I never knew you could eat them. Those of the courgette (hmmm, taste like candies).

Albert

Hi dear Alicia,

thanks for your enthousiast words. In fact this is one of the 3 portraits of Stella that I regard as best shots of the serie of about 10 selected shots.

Hi dear Sascha,

Since short I have a Nikon SB80DX flashunit, that I used here with some compensations of the normal light. It has many possibilities and I am still learning about them, but I like working with it and use it more and more.

Hi dear Mary,

It's a small jewelry shop in Assissi (Italy). The The contrast between the old building and the very modern light attracted me. So differen and at the same time I decided after watching a while there's a certain harmony and tension in the view.
The reflection is adding. It is a small gallery and the lights are shining on jewels. If you look carefully you can get a glimpse of some.
When I was watching this view I noticed that it caught the attention of many people walking along this road to the main attraction. Many moved to the shop, so I think the owner did a good job with his interior choices.

Hi dear Minoo,

Thanks for your lovely comment. The view of contrast between the old building with this very modern lighting caught my attention. I watchef it a while and decided that there is a kind of harmony between the two. Together they bring a nice and a bit exciting atmosphere. The reflections do contribute to this. So just my thoughts and conclusion on this view, that is why I took this shot.
I published it in more galleries and reactions were very mixed (which I expected). I think it has something to do with the same hesitation that felt before deciding how and to do this shot.

Albert

Hi Justin,

Btw I forgot to mention that I had a view on your portfolio on usefilm. Great work, specially like your approach to get abstract views.

The mathematical aspect in realisation, the subject choice and ideas are simply great and deserve close attention. Compliments !!!

Hi Justin,

Guess what..? It is a "soft porn staring congressman foley...drat". It's only difficult to recognize, from this bit abstract view. But ya if ya look closer, yeah than it's clear... Things are what they seem to be. It's all a matter of interpretation and perception, the basic key to understand.

Hi dear Mary,

I like this shot a lot. The contrast between the floral and black background is great. It focuses all the attention to the floral. Well seen and done, my dear friend.
I also like the well taken details and superb tones in the white colours.
You are learning fast and this is a wonderful view. Thanks for sharing it and compliments !!!

Wish you and yours a great weekend,
Albert

Hi dear Sascha,

Thanks for your kind words. I don't know if because of your job you are sometimes close to Holland or Germany. But, if so, I would appreciate it to think about doing a project together for about a day. Maybe some streetshots ?
That theme has my interest. I am curious if this is possible and if you like the idea.

Warm greetz, wish you and yours a great weekend,

Hi dear Petal,

Thanks for your stimulating words. It's a camping gaz burner, bent into curles with special software. Because of time-factor, I used a tripod on this shot.

ps Ben nu erg druk bezig en daarna vakantie. Maar
misschien voel je er iets voor om in 't najaar
samen 'n project shoot te doen ?
Ik wil nog steeds die "abandoned places" doen.
Belgie, sommige verlaten mijnen, industrie-
gebieden lenen zich daarvoor. Oke, hoor 't
wel...

Wish you and yours a nice weekend,
Albert Jacobs
