Birds of prey are very much social outcasts in the bird world aren't they Bret. So often I've watched them being fended off by much smaller birds. I wanted to see more detail of the hawk so I've done the attahed. Hope you don't mind. A little tip for you that I've found when shooting birds against the sky like this. Bump your EV up by about +2 stops. It'll blow out the sky but give detail in the subject. It's easier to adjust the sky.

Super shot Bret made all the more interesting by the colouring and detail of the tree trunk. I would however have been tempted to clone out the bit of tree branch at the back of his neck. Somehow my eye was drawn straight to that.

How great Brett love the angle you have caught this at - you can see his legs landing on the upturned trumpet like centre. The colours are nice and vibrant and good texture./ Excellent composition

So do I Bret, such a shame they should be restricted but it is a harsh world out there. I had the same feeling when we visited a big cat sanctuary a few months back. I was comforted however by the knowledge that if they weren't there most of the cats would have been long dead.
