So pleased to see you back, Peta. For me this potent image is more evocative of a Gothic or Expressionist mood than illustrative of the poem that accompanies it - something I think to do with the ghostly figure in the black dress.

The original had a washed out sky? Was the tree in the original? If it was, then you did a spectacular job of darkening the sky without affecting the tree. How did you pull that off? (Especially on a tree with so many branches!) I can tell a lot of effort went into this photo - the snow and ice detail is wonderful. I also like the hint of fog in the foreground. Not only does it give the photo a bit of depth, but it makes the blend more convincing. My only nit is the moon. I wish it was more substantial. Perhaps that sentiment is cliche, but I feel if it were a bit larger and placed higher up in the photo, it would make the lighting more consistent and the photo a bit more balanced.
Glad to see you posting again! I was going through Peta withdrawal!
