Thanks for taking the time commenting my photo, Peter. Concerning the contrast you're right. The problem for me was that it's not easy to balance the contrast without losing detail. Martin

Michel, I did use fill-in flash for the foreground. A Sigma DG500 Super, balanced with the sky.

Hi Jim and thanks for your comment! This old typewriter is much older than me, so maybe it's time for them to become relics... ;-) And to be honest: don't you prefere your PC?
Thanks again, regards,
Martin

Nice capture, David! The air perspective (that's directly translated from German to English - I don't know if that word excists...) - the fact that objects get brighter with increasing distance - works well here. The only thing that distracts me a bit is that little bright spot in the lower left third. But anyway, nice landscape! Regards, Martin

Hi Aira!
At first: thanks for comments on my last photos!
Due to that I just scrolled through your portfolio and I think it contains amazing pictures. Too many good ones to write about each, so take that as a general compliment!
Regards, Martin

Hi Ian and thanks for your comments! No, I didn't use a filter during this shoot. The sun was just becomming red and I used an ASA 400 film - that's were the colors origine from.
Woops, you're the first one who tells me that he's inspired by my photos!
Thanks again, Martin

A nice cats' portrait! I especially like the lighting. Maybe you could shoot with bigger aperture so that the white cat would be as sharp as the other is...? Regards, Martin

Hi Gertrud! Very nice portrait with great contrast. I also like the interplay of dark and brighter areas (the gradient at the wall is opposite to the girl's face). Some my critique the cropped arm or that her lower arm is a little overexposed, but I don't mind. Maybe you could use a little tighter crop - but I'm not sure if even I like the cropped version better... ;-) It's just an idea to emphasize the diagonal. Regards,
Martin

Hi Zelda! A nice portrait with great details. I also like the texture (due to the lighting) of the wall a lot. It's a pity IMO that the woman's face is so mach in the shade. Regards, Martin

Nice composition and I also like the lighting from above. I'm not sure whether I preferred less grain. I think the T-MAX 400 I would have liked better. But that's my personal opinion. Nice photo!

Hi Ameed! The color version is more ore less b/w due to the lighting. There's hardly any color information. Thanks for the comment!

I like this one! Maybe a little more light on the foreground would be better - but how to realize that...? I don't know. Great photo!

Great photo! The ultimate plus is the woman in front - a static point in the middle of a demonstration... Great!
