Thanks Bipin, u are too kind. The photo lost such quality in downscaling from the raw, great pity.

Hi Hilton, all the best for u guys. No, unfortunately it is not a freeby. I noticed as well that the photo placed here does not have the spectrum of B & W as it is appearing in the original tiff. sad.cheers and thanks for comments.

I have used NIK's Silver efex pro for post processing - the software affords one an excellent opportunity to convert images to B & W with very realistic looks similar to that once achieved with specific brands of photo paper. Thanks for the wishes for the year - good clicking for you all too.

Hi everyone. Thanks for your comments and fortime taken to visit. The name Mkhaya is derived from the Mkhaya tree (a member of the Acacia family). We were just so lucky as the hyenas gave me good time to compose and shoot a few photos.

Great photo with beautiful light... I could bet it is due to the photographer`s sensibility rather than the technical stuff. From your brazilian friend - Patricia

An lovely scene of interaction Tjaart - Slightly dark though. A little bump-up of the contrast and brightness would make a huge difference. Keep well!

A great portrait Tjaart, although I agree with Arthur to a certain extent. On a full frame the 14mm lense is extreme wide angle and the distortion towards the corners will be most noticable. Your idea is exellent, using the wide angle - I would stand back slightly, place the face closer to the middle of the lens in order to limit the distortion in that area and then later crop around that - you have more than enough pixels to do that. The distortion on the feet and he rest of the image will not bother that much. Fine work!
