what a nice shot Dwayne!
I like this old style portrait specially while accompanying the Guitar!
you know, I think it would be even a better shot if you make it the way his head was in focus and the body and guitar out of focus, that would be more similar to old styles like Mark Knopfler's shot (that I don't know his photographer)
Very well done to you,
Mohammad

I like her look and pose. nice exposure. The strand of hair coming accross her face is a little distracting imho. Nice capture.

This is VERY NICE Dwayne !!.. wonderful use of light and LOVELY expression of ur daughter..

Just that you could have been more busy looking at HER, instead of at the camera !! It would have been a masterpiece, then.

Best regards,
Avi

hi,strong street and photojournalism shot...
The primary role of photojournalism is to visually document (photo) and report (written words) on the varied viewpoints in our common world as well as the significant events of the day...given that this is a photo site, this image is a good example of "a visual document on one varied viewpoint"...technically there is room for improvement...i think having a shallower dof separating the man more from the background would make a stronger image as well as getting a bit closer to show more detail of the man...
Per the message on the sign,i think the urban gangsta style lingo diminishes the messenger somewhat...but guess many Americans are just fed up and frustrations come out in varied ways.....60% and growing disapproval rating of Bush's disastrous tactics sends a strong message of its own.....peace,gayle

Dwayne, really like the way you put these 3 together. Really worked well, very nice. Was just wondering on the New Orleans situation. Were you and your family displaced by the hurricane/levee break/flood or did you leave N.O. long before the tragedy? What a shame how a great city like that was/has been/still is so over looked by our Gov. - horrible, unbelievable, and disgusting. Take Care, Mark

Very nice, crisp shot with a good expression on the model Dwayne. Like this pose and # 3 the best. If I can just give one small bit of advice. It's best to shoot fashion/portraits, in other words shots like this with at least an 85mm (and some fashion photogs use 120 to 125 mm which I find puts you too far away from the model on some shots) In this case the 50 mm looks fine since the model is thin but the 50 mm is really the very beginning of the wide angle family. Very hard to notice but 85 and especially 125 start to compress (and models/photogs love that) It's a minor point and not worth buying the lens unless you plan to do much more of this type of work. I have the 85mm 1.8 Canon which isn't too bad price wise. The 85mm 1.4L (is it 4 or 2?) is pretty price -y, L lens and all. Anyway, great work, Mark

I always thought Austin was , by far, the best city in Texas. Once again here's more proof how right I was. This is one GREAT journalistic shot (should add that to your categories Dwayne - you can put your shot into 3 different ones that way it gets more exposure/more views). Love the sign, So simple yet so to the point - it's rare to see such BRILLIANT clarity. Please get this Gents name and contact info if you bump into him again cause I'd be more then happy to by him a few beers, maybe even dinner and catch some good Blues/Rock bands downtown - A true Patriot / American. Just fantastic work !! take care, Mark PS. You know, INTO MY FAVORITES, why not? THe majority now have caught on to the truth - I just love it !!

Sorry, Dwayne, didn't mean to cause offence.

You didn't just post to Usefilm, you put it in 'Critiquer's Corner'. You invited my honest opinion, and I gave it.

wow what a harsh comment, especially coming from a parent. I wonder why you don't have any images of your son posted I would surely like to see what a well organized professional photographer you are. Ok for starters since your a seasoned pro and all of your images are rated 10+ and keep in mind the fact that you "really don't like this image". Yes you are entitled to your own opinion, but to make a comment as you did after reading my comments that I was in the park goofing off with my daughter tells me that you must not really know about kids or the art behind photography. Usefilm is not a website were you post all gallery rated images and if thats what your looking for your in the wrong place, and what's so special about landscape photos. Wow your subject doesn't move, smile, squirm or anything for that matter so your a pro at capturing that. Next time before you post to anyones image that "annoys me that stuff like this gets posted to Usefilm" DON'T

I really don't like this image, and it annoys me that stuff like this gets posted to Usefilm. To me, it appears simply that you took a few snaps, had a quick look through, found a cute one, gave it a cheesy title, as if that would turn an indifferent image into 'art'.

It may be a nice image, for you, of your own daughter. But what meaning does it have to anyone else, who doesn't know her, or you?

For example, what statement does it make about childhood? Or, a parent's love for a child? Etc, etc.

What art or craft went into it, to achieve the image? The background is a confusing mess, you couldn't even be bothered to think about angles to ameliorate that, or tidy the area up, or crop the image afterwards.

Nice photo.
However, I think that the background is a bit cluttered although the things in the background is out of focus. I think you could delete some of them using PS' clone and stamp tool (by taking the samples using grass).
Congrulations.
