Couldn't be anyone's image but yours - delightful! The muted colours in the wall are delicious. My only question is - does it really need the right-hand part, that is, the drainpipe and the wall to the right of it? I have tried covering it up, and sometimes I think it is better without it, and sometimes I'm not so sure....

Well seen, this is my kind of shot! I think you could go in even closer and bring out more of the detail.

I like that a lot - very eye-catching. Is it done in camera, or post-processing?

Nice shot. I was down in that area over Christmas, but never got a sky as nice as that one!

Great angle and composition on one of the most-photographed (and often badly-photographed) things in London. Nice to see one shot on film too!

Congratulations on the award. This has the richness of an oil painting.

I like this a lot, but I wonder if it really needs the right-hand part? Try cropping off about 1/3 and see what you think. I think I like it better - there's plenty enough in the rest to entertain the eye.

I like the idea of this, but for me it hasn't quite worked. For me there is not quite enough there - I want to see just a little bit more. Not much more, but a bit.

Love these textures and colours, but for me there is just a bit too much in the frame. I'd suggest going in closer and isolating smaller sections. I reckon there are probably half a dozen great images in there. Impressive quality from the LX3, too.

Lovely - very much my kind of shot. I'm not sure if I need the shaft of light, but with that framing it's not easy to remove it. There are probably some other nice images closer in too.

Ah, the delights os minimalism - and square images! Another Miro here! Well seen.

Just revisited your portfolio. I love this kind of shot, and this is great. But I reckon it's even stronger if the top quarter or even the top third is cropped off (i.e. make it a square). It means you don't have that big highlight leading the eye up and out of the image. Try it and see what you think. I took a lot of shots like this when I was around Cape Trib a year or so ago. Fabulous place.

Yes, like this a lot - very much the type of shot I'd take. I'm wondering if there might actually be several even stronger images in there, by going in even closer and/or cropping. For example, I like the two square images made by cropping off the top and cropping off the bottom. (But then I just like square ;-) )

I like this a lot - very strong design. I'm wondering if it might be even better if some were cropped off the left, even to a square (I like square). What do you think?

I like the image (and the subject) a lot, but I do find the fragment of house and the tree in the background a bit distracting. I would try to find a viewpoint to eliminate them, and make more of that very nice sky (yes I know it's probably gone now). I think there are many possible images here - for example the little puddle of water down the bottom there - if you go in close can you make a nice abstract from that? And the lovely wavy line along the top right edge - there must be some potential there.

I like the shot but for me the bird IS a little too high in the frame. My eye would prefer it lower down so it is in among the reflections rather than almost floating above them. I'm not exactly sure where, and I'm sure there are some logistical issues that limit where you can shoot from (and where the bird happens to be standing). What about a vertical shot? Bird near the top might work better that way. And what about just the reflections with no bird? Lots of possibilities at this place! Just my 2c worth.

This is one of the best shots of this type of subject I've seen. The great sky is the icing on the cake, but you pressed the button at the exact right moment - so it was already a good cake!

Ah yes, it is an extraordinary part of the world, isn't it? Sounds like the flight I did a couple of years back - Broome to Horizontal Waterfalls, then across to Cape Leveque, then back down the coast to Broome. Absolutely fantastic. You are filling me with impatience to be there again!

Your images nearly always catch my eye. I tried rotating this one all 4 ways, and it works in all of them! Sign of a good image, well seen.

Actually, I don't think you'll find too many layers in Louise's work. I think it's still the case that nearly all her images are produced in camera, with one shot. It certainly was a few years back when she embarked on the path she is now on. I don't think she likes Photoshopping much.

Hey, I thought I recognised good ol' Sugarloaf! Are you visiting or are you from WA too? Nice shot, nice sky. I would probably prefer more sky and less foreground.

Like your abstracts a lot. Suggest you check out the work of a friend of mine - Louise Mann. She isn't on Usefilm, but you can see her website at www.louisemann.com. I think you'd like her work.

Wow, just caught up with these droplet shots. Great stuff. Do you have some sort of electronic gizmo to fire the flash at the right instant?

Yes, go for it, it's a great subject. Actually I just tried cropping further to the right, to a square, and I think I like it even better - what do you reckon?
