Robert,

Your young lady stands out really well against the chosen background. She has a nice stance and a good solid gaze in her eye. Still seems that something is missing. Two things I would recommend that would bring more spice to such a pic: (1) have the model bend more -- more "flex" brings more energy or sense of movement to a pic and (2) don't share so much of her with the background, which here is a vast majority of the image. I do like this image and I can picture myself working successfully with your model.

The same colors as the Palazzo Quirinale and the hotel opposite the Pantheon where Tasso once spent the night. These Romish vistas are taking me back to the Eternal City. . .

I have loved minarets since returning from Istanbul in 1997.

this is a sensational shot with a great deal of emotion and artistry. . .the tones really cut through the superficial image straight into the woman's inner self. . .very nice

No more Vatican or Romish pictures, I beg. I have a baldacchino shot far more sumptuous than this but perhaps less artistic. Of course, I do not inhabit Turkey nor am I a European, so I might be wrong in my American conceit. . .nonetheless the opinion holds.

Superb. . .the position of the elements and the wondering look of the child and his unclear world have stark implications for adult viewers.

Very much like the composition and cropping in this picture but I wish there were more light on your face. . .

Another of those terrific shots that uses extremely simple elements to touch the human chord.

You got this in Cody WY? I was just thinking after my last post a moment ago that I might upload "my" bighorn pic from Glacier NP Montana, and then I saw this and guessed "Banff" before seeing the info. Great shot. . .

"Not even good pornography". . .you've got issues. Saying you're not out to offend but suggesting the photographer to have only his mother look at them. . . you've got issues. Something only a little boy reaching puberty would take -- or enjoy. . you've got issues.

Suzie, you are the only woman commenting so far on this photo. All the rest are positive comments but all by men. As a man and a photographer I happen to like this photo. Your comments seem to make assumptions that are not anywhere in evidence in this photo. All submissions should stand as they are without appendices and explanations as to what the photographer was trying to do, his mentality, etc. . .suppose we crop this photo from the rounded shoulder to the top edge of the frame beneath her nose (where it now ends). The viewer would still be able to see the delicacy of the human face. The forms in this photo as it stands are clear, sharp, delicate and artistic. . something worthy of praise. I think your comments have value and therefore ought to be considered, but assumptions regarding the photographer's or model's psyche aren't immediately relevant in critiquing a photo.

The light and dark tones here work especially well. The elements are very inviting and very simple. Outstanding work.

A very bright and soft image. . .like I said, I can see why this girl is your favorite model. I'd use her abundantly myself. . .great work.

I very truly like this shot. . the man's expression of concern or pain; his position in the photo; the surrounding elements and use of b&w; all of this make a very dramatic image. I wish though that he had been in sharper focus. The other elements appear to be a tad blurred also. . .still, a great shot.

Surprised you got a chance to shoot this without all the people ringing the edges. . .this was usually more crowded than Trevi. Wish I had thought to try the underside angle as you did. . .excellent idea.

I was going to guess Fener or Uskudar. . of course you know your Istanbul neighborhoods better than I do. The picture has a lot of human appeal but the elements for me do not tell a story, except to demonstrate that I am in Oklahoma and not in Turkey. . .

Very nice intensely personal expression. Enough lighting to recognize her long dark hair on her dark outfit, but excellent lighting all around. This is one where the dark backdrop very much complements the moody situation, as if we're interfering with the lady's privacy.

I very much like the DOF in this image but I would applaud more lighting in her eyes and face. The overcast day worked well for the DOF but robbed the rest of more clarity and illumination.
