Wow doyle, this is a hard photo to comment on, In many eyes its a touchy subject and they dont know how to approach It after reading the about.

I will say this is a very emotional scene, that im sure strikes fellings in all who view it, who ever said a picture is worth a thousand words was a cheapskate in this case.
I can only wonder where the award is, As your not going to find a more emotional scene captured perectly...

Hi Robbie, I can spend hours watching the little guys defend there area, even if it means I lose the flight shot such as in this case where the little guy made the eagle fly right into the sunlight over my head, though i was hoping he would go left or right...

Thanks Chelsea, This guy was trying so hard to get the eagle off the pole I was rooting for him, he was relentless and flew around him, tugging and pulling for around 30 mins, The eagle did get fedup and flew off, The mockingbird flew proudly to his nest which was right next to the pole joined the female sitting on eggs..

This is a beautiful bird, Captured wonderfully, you are very luck to have such sharing fellow birders. I know this was not a easy shot to expose but you got it perfect. I hope my fellow California birders dont read this, but if you took the average one stuck him/her in this lighting situation, they would not come up with a shot like this, hell they dont even go out to shoot if the sun is not out LOL..
would love to see a GGO one day..

Yes I can see what you mean, probably better left as is, as the three dead center in the frame my not be appealing.

I have been doing good, I have not been getting a ton of shooting in, but when I do I try to make the best of my time, which means i get nothing done period! Hope all is well!

Very nice Capture Brigitte, the pretty pink against the muddy water makes a nice contrast.
I love your wide variety of nature at its best..
Sacramento does have its advantages, the mountians couple of hours to the east, ocean to the west, I lived on 22 street for a couple of years, summer heat is a killer:)

Very nice Doyle, I can see what you were shooting for here and It looks great, I am amazed at the lack of noise at ISO 1100 as I know the D200 Is not the best at handling it.

Did you think about cropping out the girl on the right? I only as as half of her is cropped off and she is very static, which does not do a lot to show any motion...

Great work..

Wow this is really nice Dave! I can really get an unobstructed view of this wonderful sculpture, Great job of keeping all the detail in the bright whites and a beautiful blue sky! I am flattered by the title...
I hope you didnt take my previous comment wrong, as it is also an excellent shot, I just wanted to see just the subject, and this works perfectly for me...

Thanks Avi, I didnt even know it, I thought I would upload it there as I entered it in a challenge in DPC 1000th challenge, It did not do real great, 38th out of 1114, I had to go though so many photos as in this challenge there are no time constraints, and decided on that one, Possible mistake, I think a flight shot would have done better.
If you have never checked out that site DPc you should take a look, its a lot of fun!
Thanks again..

I do this demonstation in my freezer every so often!
No seriously very nice Journalistic capture, the Ice is very intresting to say the least, the sign does give you the idea that is is a display and adds to the shot, though I would like to have seen one with the ice ice O lated :)
Great capture...
