LOL!! That's such a humorous and, at the same time, tender picture, Marcin.

I saw you on pontos de vista, great series (you know I do love your Silesian songs...). I was also taking a glance on your fine and superbly designed website.

Abraço!!

Maybe I would have tried to avoid most of the dark foreground, but, anyway, this is a breathtaking picture, Don. Great clouds and perfect timing: you just waited till the sunlight broke the clouds. Outstanding, my friend!!

LOL, Don! We certainly use the English word, as opposed to many Latin American Spanish speakers, who use our own word ("alto").

And regarding the "target", you show your great eye again: many of our hunters are too nervous, or maybe they can't catch anything smaller or faster than the sign...

You're right: here the composition is not good, I was just trying long exposures. And it's not only moonlight, the foreground was also lighted by some street lamps. But it's amazing how well performs the Canon CMOS for long exposures... (it gets less hot than CCDs)

Hi, Marek

I took about 200 pictures, and this is one of my favorites, and just because of what you pointed out.

I was quite close to the ground, just in the first row, near the goal and the corner. I was lucky that they celebrated the goal scoring right in front of me, so I was able to take some close-up photos. I only have the 70-200 in the telephoto realm, and it's pretty short for soccer, unless you are allowed to move here and there like photojournalist are. Maybe I could get a press pass and...

Excellent shot, Daniel! It's very hard to expose such extremely contrasted scene, and you nailed it.

BTW, looking at your (yet) short gallery, it seems very clean and ordered. Mathematics?

(Both my father-in-law and my sister-in-law are mathematicians, so I'm used to deal with such rational people...)

Yes, it's cropped, of course. I had no longer lens than my 70-200, and those stilts are quite shy and they never allow you to get close to them. The rest of the photo is unintesting, I think: some empty water and some very dark shore areas.
Grazie!!
