This picture belongs in a fantasy story, something like the computer game Myst. It's like the train takes you to the bottom of the sea to the Water Kingdom. I love the smokey waters and the great contrast of the tracks and rocks. And the land in the distance, some kind of Avalon?

SUPERB!

Great eye to spot this, and the capture is fantastic, very well executed.

The crop of the shadow is a very minor thing.

What a pity.

Why did you cut the shadow of the second lamp as it is one of the subjects of the picture?

It would have been perfect without that problem.

Here, it's just "almost alright".

If you can, do it again.

You diserve the award. You composed this square with talent and managed the light with a lot of originality.

That's really a good picture.

Congrat"s.

beautiful contrasts. dramatic! to make it perfect in my point of view, i would have more contrast on the water to avoid the top heavy feeling. a nice thing to do in the darkroom. look foreward 2 c more of your pics!

A bit too dramatic for my tast. After all, the sky implies a weather which isn't supported by the rest of the image. And since the water reflects the color of the sky it should be darker too for my feeling.
Nevertheless a nice shot with a good composition.

yes! the smoke is the thing here and i really like that you cropped out most of the buildings and let the smoke create the movement and drama. i agree about the cables, but there was nothing you could've done about that (well, call alberta hydro...). fantastic pic!
