What a facinating point of view. The composition is delightful. The lines add movemnt to the capture. I was not going to look at this photo, it looks ugly in the thumbnail. What a wonderful suprise. Sometimes those tiny small captures are decieving!!!!!

Very nice light and composition, well captured, it looks like the tide went out...at least I hope that's what happened!!

The use of desaturation of the image as you've done here is easily misused. But here, I think, the effect is tasteful and meaningful. I am glad the sign is where it is. Aside from being a good compositional treatment, it avoids overwhelming the gently ironic symbolism.

Best wishes,
--George

This is a classic film image that recalls the "spirit photography" rage of the Victorians. That this was done "in the camera" is remarkable these days and shows your great control and creativity. Excellent . . .

I find the composition appropriate and effective in capturing the layers of complexity of this kind of scene. The effect is displayed also in the weathering of the boat--not only of the steering house, but also of the wood siding. Sometimes, the instincts kick in and provide a good sense of spontaneity in the image. That's what happened here, I think, and the result is strong and attractive. Good work . . .

There are issues with composition here.
1. There is no "main point", center of it.
2. Too many various details.
Of course, these are for CC only.

Serge

Hi Ciprian, sure this photo has a few flaws in it's composition, but considering the position you were in, I think this turned out pretty OK, good details and textures. Why not head out there with out the dogs (or with someone for you to hold them)?

I think shooting restrained is a very good exercise, though. It forces one to shoot quickly. I found that zooming in more on the subject increases the success rate of single handed shots. Also, I wouldn't even begin trying to keep the camera level, and introduce a tilt on purpose. The one thing I do keep in mind when I take these shots is to roughly judge camera position and angle, to be fairly sure of getting the subject I'm shooting...

Cheers,

Hugo

The fantastic pinky brown colour tone in that awesome and dramatic skyline is the first thing that grabs the attention Ciprian. However, once I took stock of that I discovered the subject boat's dark reflection in the gentle rippled waters. Love that. Well done to you on a wonderful sudy of colour tones and lighting effects..Best wishes...Ray

very nice shot. It is a pity that it is a bit over-exposed at some areas of the frame.
Well done,
