Hi, Michalis. It is nice to hear from you again. The original film was not over-exposed, but more even in tone from highlight to shadow. I felt it was lacking something, so on the computer I actually started experimenting with PS. I liked the color and contrast here so much that I posted it.

A happy accident. This digital version was much more like the intense feeling of the sunrise that I experienced than my original result on film. Even a little surreal.

You have many beautiful available light photos posted in you portfolio. I hope everyone goes to them.

Excellent shot. Very nice tones and lighting. Maybe a bit over-exposed at some areas of the frame.
Well done,
Michalis

The bride chose a great location. I was relieved that the weather and lighting cooperated with us. Glad you like it, Wayne.

That's a good observation Jayabal. I am rarely satisfied with the color that comes out of my digital camera or my scanner - this was scanned from Kodachrome. And nothing is ever bright enough for me, so I use PhotoShop to bring it closer to my mind's eye. It really felt that warm on the early morning.

I appreciate your commenting.

Thanks again, Scott. I was on the car ferry and ran back down to get a different lens when I saw this coming. I almost missed it.

I will admit to some PS shenanigans to enhance the rather flat image that often comes out of the digital camera -- added contrast, selective color, saturation. I had to bring it closer to what I actually saw. I used to shoot nothing but Kodachrome and was rarely disappointed in the color.

Thanks, Scott. You really need a particular kind of background for this PS effect to work. I had to repair the sky in the corners and the road a bit, but the hill fell right into place.

I see you like cars, too.

Regards to you in New Zealand.

Ahh, I like the distortion, even though im not one to manipulate the image too much, not like that anyway, but this has worked really well, at first I thought it was a wide angle lens.

Great work

I have been fortunate, because in New York City there are many places to rent cameras and lenses, my favorite being Alkit Photo.

But I believe you can go online or to the yellow pages to find a camera store that rents photographic equipment in the Houston area. I hope it is not unique to New York.

Good Luck!

Thanks, Nacho. I am happy for the accidental timing, because every morning the position of the sun is changing. Now I have to walk to another window to see the sunrise and the scene is completely different.

Well the colors are absolutely brilliant, not to mention the composition - you did very well.

That wide lens you're looking at is awesome, I myself like fisheyes, find the panorama & distortions very appealing, and as you currently have my eye on one...the 10.5 fisheye.

By the way, heard of rentals...how do these work?

Thanks, Noemi. The colors are owed to PhotoShop enhancements. It looks quite ordinary without post-production.

I favor wide angle lenses for composition, this being a true 20mm on film. Would be 30mm on my digital, so recently I had to rent a 17mm - would love to get a Sigma 10-20mm.

I am glad you like it. Your friend, Lee
