Ah, the pain of it -- having to listen to people's stories all day and half the night. I empathize with the man, I really do.

And you've caught it splendidly. I like the pointed fence tops on either side of the gabbing man -- my twisted mind wants one of them to leap and turn and go through him . . .

But he'd probably just keep on talking

At first I thought maybe less dof would be good, but no, your tones are strong enough to keep the foreground distinct. And I think your framing here is excellent, with that space between them dead-cneter. It's that space that the photo's about, I think.

Beautiful lighting and tones here, Wesley -- The pose is perfect and your DOF makes it even more so.

Not too sharp, not too soft, just right -- as the 80mm always seems to be. I'm assuming it's the Zeiss . . .

I love the balance here, all the rectangles -- very nice. And the light's so beautiful without being any sort of real presence -- just the mildness of the colors.

And then mr cat with his black and his strange pose -- what an accent he is. I must say, also, that I congratulate your including the dark road at the bottom, it's a nice tonal link to the cat's black and the blacks and greys above him.
Really nicely done, and welcome back!

Ha ha! Another beauty --
I like the nice tight frame here, and those wonderful tones. Obviously, the young man is very experienced, look at that hand on the hip

wonderful work, David.

Lots to look at here, and lots to really enjoy. Wonderful job with the darkness and light

Quite strange and beautiful, Andrew -- it's a wonderful idea and quite different, and I like it!

The configurations of trees are gorgeous, and taking the time to look at each frame is quite rewarding. I love the little touch of reddish color near the center.

I don't understand the lack of response to this, but don't let it slow you down. Must be something good on the idiot box or something

Ah, for me?
You know I love my flowers dead.
And these are particularly lovely stems, with that bit of reflection on the glass.

I don't know how you do this John -- amazing to me that you get such beautifully balanced frames working as quickly as you do.

She's wonderful -- look at that face! I really like, also, all the curves of the sidewalk, the dead-centerednes of the women, and the truck. It's all working together, like a good symphony.

Another beauty . . .

oh, nice! Kallitype? Van Dyke? Looks lovely on the rough paper. And the composition itself is wonderful. All-around great vision from start to finish.

Love the boy in the man's arms, and the way the nun's gaze leads you right to it. Nice capture. It's lively and well composed. Not your best tones, ever, but I think I will forgive you for that

One of my favorites of yours, David -- can't you just imagine the headlines all the scandal sheets could come up with for this one?

alien abduction . . . Houdini's worried wife drops off his hat and coat, etc etc on and on into total ridiculousness.

And that is a beauty of a wonderful shot like this -- it lets the viewer participate.

Love the centered comp. Works perfectly!

Great one, Lowell -- love the tight crop and the angle. They are in the water, aren't they?

I agree with Michelle -- one of your best

Crawling like ants, aren't they? Nice sense of a city waking up, getting started, the hustle and bustle of it all. The distance here reminds me of how ridiculous it all is, this feverish pitch we live at.

At least that's how I see this one . Always subjective

Let me add my praise to the chorus! Love the expression, the tones. And then there's the other face, and the round shape he's leaning against. All make for a lively and balanced photo.

Well, how the heck did I manage to overlook your work completely, James? Head in the bushes, I guess

I find this image stunning for many reasons. The emotional/mythological/historical implications are wonderful, and everything about it -- from the twisted man in the middle to the rough but beautiful tonalities, seem to work together seamlessly.

I was amused to read of the chaos and labor involved in this -- it looks absolutely natural and its beauty is very quiet.

Nicely done. Now I'll go look at something newer!

Ha! Look at those faces! This is just great, especially the tones, accented with the great whites. I think the brilliance of the composition is that corner adn wall coming out on the viewer's left -- gives everything another dimension.

A pleasure, sir!

Beautiful use of the square here, Pascal --I love the wood of the table, then the bowl, then finally the faint lines on the plum skin. perfect, simple, and very very rich!

I have no idea what's going on here (but I never did anyway) But I love it, and I love the fact that I can't figure it out.

Though I AM ahead of the person who can't find the 5th woman.
And I suspect, that since there's no front to the car, that they're going nowhere really really fast (but thin and well dressed, mind you!)

Yes!!!
I love the lack of clarity here, the grain, the subdued tones. It's an unguarded vision, I think, of the world before it has a chance to put on its costume. So, for my eye, which is always looking for that "something more" you caught the magic!

Oh, this is fabulous once again! great tones and well composed. I can't imagine how you get things this candid with an 80mm -- you must be quite stealthy with that camera.

Very dramatic (and also beautiful) -- I never know whether I like the front or the back of blossoms better. So you've solved the problem here Love the little leaf in the forward-facing one.

beautiful and wonderful toning/contrast as well.
This reminds me (emotionally) of some of Sudek's "in the Magic Garden" cycle -- beautiful work with chairs

The handcoloring here is perfect, I think.
You have a way of capturing the emotional life of angels. Most of us think of them as happy creatures, flitting around. But you show more. Often their dispair and the conflicted state they live in. the difficulty of being an angel.

Love this . . .
