LOL...So.... what was the question? Well, I love the answer! Very PC... I do think that I like the softer conversion to black and white for these shots (as opposed to the "overlay" that I played with).
I can see now that I should save the bolder more dramatic conversions to subjects other than kids.

Uhhhhhhh . . . . ok, I've, uhhhh . . . well . . . I've thought about this now for almost two complete months . . . LoL! So here's an answer. I have looked at all three versions and I think they all have merit. Really . . . all you've proven is that a cute child captured nicely can work in almost any composition. Who knew? You've seen all three . . . Tell me I'm wrong and they don't all work and work well! :)
So, in a politically correct stance - I like 'em all!

Very nice portrait. From the catch lights in her eyes it appears to be a natural light image. The focus is sharpest on her eyes. Her hair and the hat frame her face quite nicely. The pose and her expression seem very natural and relaxed. Colors and saturation are very pleasing. An all around wonderful capture.
