Hi Brigitte,

I am assuming, by original, you mean the original scan. If it original scan itself is dark, its a matter of adjusting the levels.

But if you mean it looks different when opened in Photoshop, as compared to when opened by I.E. It could be that your Photoshop is callibrated differently. So, it looks different when opened in Photoshop, as compared to when opened by I.E. Before you upload the image to usefilm, you could try opening it in a browser and check if it has the desired look.

very nice picture..and love the composition...

which kodak film did you shoot?
also there seems to be a lot of cyan in the scan..in the upper half of the image..

but the flowers and the house alone..make it a great picture..

"LOL.. who would of thought that of all your photos a pile of rocks would get Editor's Choice .. hehe"

most probably everyone but you alisa, this really is a brilliant image and probably the steves best work yet too..
i was sitting on those rocks at about 3:00pm, nearly around the same time the picture was taken and i got confused into thinking it was a moonlit picture..

and thats what makes this image so brilliant..., it has been rendered so much tone and mood, when ordinarily it looked nothing like that..

and with this image you can notice that steve has reached another level in photography, if i may say so..

thats a really nice idea...composition works well too
i agree about the focus on the hand..shallow DOF is a good idea too..but personally for me, for some reason it doesnt go so well in this image..

also the middle finger for some reason looks too large..

the reflection part works really , the hand part may be improved in terms of light and focus

Very scenic view Ashok,

The sky color looks a bit weird to me..am not really sure if its due to the time of the day or something else..but personally i prefer it was bluish (more natural)..
also the very huge shadow to the right is distracting..
if the shadows are not too strong you could probably rectify that with a ND grad...or may be by waiting for a few more minutes until the sun is a lil more higher in the sky..(but not high enough that its too strong)

i like how you chose the angle which had no back ground distractions at all..

was a fun trip with you and your dad..

very effective title..
i wouldnt necessarily straighten the shot..the incline i think adds to it..but i would crop the top and the right to get rid of the frame

connie..nice idea..
i would have preferred a lot less ground...and a tree which had no leaves so you can see the branch structure against the background colors..

great capture of moment ashok..
i can only imagine how happy the kids are and how much one can be happy even with the least of means..

improvement if any in the picture may be achieved by shooting for details in the shadows..
