Meet a Warrior. Let's just call him Daniel. He's the guy who just cranked out a sweet hit in gap between short and third. One run scored and he got on. Unfortuneatly he was thrown out trying to steal second. This was in late April of 1968.

Well Guy, great film cameras are real bargin these days... and film will be around a lot longer than a lot of folks think. Smoe really film are gone, but there are lots of good one available. Check out B&H and Adorama for what they're carrying these days. You may want to start out with a 35mm SLR and a couple of lenses to get the feel of things. Do some reading on the subject, talk to a lot of folks... and most of all, shoot, shoot, shoot.

Such a powerful image of mere rock and sand. The other elements you bring into play are the magic that makes this almost speak to the viewer. What do you mean by "unworldly" when referring to this place? Again I see you using different cmaeras and films. Where can I get a good, honest objective evaluation of the types of film that are still available? This is beginning to fascinate me... Now I just need to get a good film camera.

It appears you are fond of the red rock country of the southwest. That has always been the most favorite place I have ever been. Do you always get such powerful results from using film? I think I am going to have to get involved with film while there still is some left. Where might I get a good camera to use with film? You seem to use so many different types, both of cameras and films. Is exposing film much the same as the digital form?

It's been quite some time since we last met on these pages, George, mostly because I hardly post, being busy writing, translating & lecturing.
In your photo you captured the huge-ness of this ship. Recently I am occupied with publishing my wife, Rachel's book, "Sweet Lemons", in which she, in 30 Hebrew short stories, describes her life during WWII (age 3 - 8) in a detention camp on Mauritius, in English.
Thank you for your compassionate comment on her late grandfather's photo
Shalom,
Rafi

Hi Frank -
This is a real "unworldy" place. Lots of very dramatic locations. Good places to shoot some more of Greta.

Thank you for your kind comment. There are times when you've made your exposure and you just know that you have something special. Since I shoot mostly film there is also the growing anticipation while you wait for the lab to complete processing your film. And there are those surprises that you just had no idea would turn out so good. The really special times are few and far between, which makes them doubly special to me.
