The central object here, in silhouette, is a gong, used to call people to meditation.

The contrast gives it more punch but it loses detail that I think is important.

Beautiful image! For me, I think the image would be stronger cropped in tighter. Wonderful available light photo.

The statue is exactly as I found it. Probably the other fingers were broken off by vandals. There are many great cemetaries in Paris, but if you haven't been to Pere-Lachaise its definitely worth a visit.
