Yes the sky is too harsh. Any ideas on how to correct this?

Thanks for your comment Robert! If you and your girlfriend visit the Biltmore also be sure to explore downtown Asheville, it is a very interesting small American city. The mountains here are also nice to explore! P.S. Are you an Anglican Vicar? I ask because I noticed the sleeves of your robe. I'm an Episcoplian.

Another nice shot Mark! Is this one hand held as well? A bit more blur than the other one, but then again after the Beer and then the Martini's - it's quite good! lol

Mark, it is quite good for hand held! How did you keep still long enough for the exposure?

Thanks Sandra for your nice comments! I enjoyed looking at your work as well. I especially liked 'Looking Up' - the view of the maple tree in Autumn! Beautiful colours, the deep blue of the Autumn sky and the orange tones of the maple. Also, enjoyed the lighthouses very much.

Steve, I would have moved the wooden skid that's leaning against the rock wall. I find that skid a bit distracting from the scene, just my personal feeling. I might would also crop a bit of the bottom of the photo, up to about the mud puddles. Other than that, I like the composition.

You really captured the look and feel of the low angle of the winter sun in this shot. Like the way the pattern of the cirrus clouds compliment the pattern of the grass on the ground below.

One of the best photos! Great composition with the trees. Reminds me of the snow scenes I saw last winter along I-79 just south of Lake Erie, with the trees covered in heavy snow. I still kick myself for not stopping and taking pictures! Don't know what I was thinking on that trip. Anyway, LOVE this photo!
