Not very productive comments so far. I like the expression, the contrast and the b&w. Might crop a bit closer to cut some of the tree an background, but a good pic!

Carmn - really like this one! Might want to try a tighter crop .. or maybe you did already? Anyway, great detail and like the use of black space around the flower.

Sophie - great work trying new things and high contrast. I think this one needs a bit more detail to be effective . like the close crop and focus on the lips/hair/shoulder. keep experimenting!

Well done. Good detail and DoF for a macro. Cute idea ... did it hurt? Like the framing too.

Thanks for the comment on the picture of the three boys!

Well exercised wide angle lens. Nice capture.

Id like to know focal length, speed, aperture, use of tripod, etc. so I can learn a bit more.

Thanks, Mark

Thisone should hang in the office to provide a calming influence. Great work!

The only bother is the "hair" on the rocks. Maybe this could have been smoothed a bit?

Thanks, Mark

Shirley - thanks. BTW, can' wait to get back to Hawai and try a few of your waves in motion captures! Mark

Scott - tried to up the contrast, but to me that seemed to reduce the effect of the "atmosphere".

Thanks for the comment ... maybe I'll go back and play with PS a bit more.

Shirley - impressive capture and great tone. Love the absolute black of the tree silouettes and their framing effect.

So THAT'S what you do with a wide angle zoom!

Thanks for the lesson. Mark

Andree - thanks for the comment. Maybe I should have repositioned to include more reflection rather than the dark area on the right lower. What do you think?

Keep it up, Mark

Nice capture ... gets the communication done. not sure I lke the noise effect. Also, the model's expression could be improved .. not sure how though. Enjoyed! M

Great composition with perfect sharpness and wonderful colors.
I would have liked to see a bit of interest amongst the "Organ" pipes in the background to provide a focal point.

Thanks! M

Looks like a wonderful night to be out by the fire ... just the hint of sky adds complexity to the shot. Why not put a little more room in front of the model and maybe a corner of the fire?

Nice effect, thanks! M

Shirley - not sure why no comments yet ... it is beautifully done. Great colors, nice smile! Whether one would hang this on the wall in the bedroom is a matter of taste, but you have to respect the art and the technique.

I might have liked a bit finer texture in the "feathers", but a very enjoyable piece of art. M

Andree ... it is truly a memory to have 'til I die. Even better because our group of 6 all made the summit at 19,430'!

Ready to print poster size, frame with ornate wood and hang in the parlor. Nice effect. Would have been good without filter effect also. Thanks, M

Andree - thanks, I was looking for one, but I hear he came by just afterwards. Understand it needs a bit of excitement. Actually tried to catch the man working in the field, but he's just walking away to the right of the frame.

Thanks! M

I've dealt with malaria in Angola ...this captures the anxiety well. Treat or die. Kids are the worst.

Great emotional capture. B&W and grain are appropriate. M

Nice abstract and vibrant colors. If you are shooting for a piece to hang over the fireplace in a neo-modern home, you are there. For simle viewing, I'm looking for a focal point.
Noise in bottom right corner of bright area is also distracting. Thanks, M

Andree - this one doesn't hit me. I like the tone and the capture is technically excellent, but my eye searches for a focal point.

Peaceful with the haze. Early morning? I would have been tempted to improve the contrast, but I think you made the right choice in leaving the haze.

Thanks for the comment on the CC! M

Shirley - I like the river as a framing element also, but the trade-off is losing the detail of the rice fields. Maybe the answer is the vertical printed LARGE!

Thanks, Mark
