Hi Debarshi, No this is further West and a bit North you are thinking of Loch Ness a tourist mecca. Nessy hasn't been spotted for a while now (some say never) oh those sceptics. By the way here's a picture of Castle Uruhart on the banks of Loch Ness doubtless with Nessie cruising the ramparts below.

You have every right to be proud Peter this is a fabulous picture that I was drawn too the instant I saw it. Ideally I would have preferred to see it crisply rendered in both the foreground and background where the depth of field is just starting to fall away a little. Never-the-less a compelling image which I enjoyed immensely.

Hi Ned

I think you are right that there are several sections of this photograph that would make a pleasing photgraph. Indeed a panoramic camera probably would have served best as the lateral extent of the cirque of mountains exceeded the boundaries of the image originally portrayed and may well have given even more impact.

Just stunning. The quality and cleanliness of this picture speaks volumes for digital imagery and I am a dedicated gelatine user. Congrats.

I can't argue with that I guess i tried to make the best of the circumstances I was confronted with. The graphic nature of the image does it for me and somehow makes that mountain just a little bit more inaccessible.

Hi Gerry, no, this was from my Epson 3200 perfection flatbed costing £199.00. It really is a remarkably good machine as long as the slide density isn't too high. I spend a lot of time eliminating tiny specks of dust though.

It certainly benefits from an extra tweak in the sky area Alastair. I like the result.

Quite right not manipulated the grass is just a wonderful lush green spring carpet but rarely have I had a sky of character to match it.

Hi Ian

Thankyou for your kind comments. The UK is astonishingly beautiful the main difference between the UK and the USA is how hard you have to work to find the amazingly beautiful scenery that UK has to offer everything has to be right lighting, composition and location, only then can we truly match and dare I say surpass some of the beauty that the USA has to offer.

Hi peter thanks for looking and commenting the shadow is sort of inevitable with this strong directional lighting. I suppose I left it like this because I love the result, (what better reason). I have some arguably even more magnificent offerings from a variety of viewpoints, which maybe I will download at a later date, the sky gets even more thunderous.

Hi Lea, I must admit thatis exactly what I do when somebody requests a print, but for purposes of presentation on the website I don't put in quite as much work. What you see is a very accurate colour and density match for my transparency. Not many people believe it though.

Thankyou Peter that comment in Findhorn sunset should have applied to this photo. Findhorn Sunset had a 0.6 ND hard edged grad applied across the sky. The colour was breathtaking and is as near as possible a match for my original transparency. I wish you could see it projected.

Hi peter we really do get quite incredible sunsets up here, see my other Findhorn image the reflected light made my face glow red. As for Ribbons of fire, the 0.9ND grad filter on the top will have darkened the sky and consequently given the impression of increased saturation but this is still a very good mimic of my original Velvia transparency.
