Thanks for your comment Olga. Yes the sky does look grainy. The photo is not sharpened prior to UF ; the noise apears significantly as the image size was reduced. I checked the original at the smaller size ; the noise does appearin this also. I will need to do some checking ; again thanks for taken the time to comment

great , documentary -like photograph.Maybe the only 'negative' thing I have noticed is that the sky has a lot of noise.Maybe you have sharpened too much?Still, this is a humble opinion, nothing special, this is a great image!!!

It does help a lot; I couldn't find any thing that looked much like it on the web. This will point me in the right direction. I am sure you are right. I am a New Zealander now living in Washington, so the wildlife here is new to me.

Hi Gary... great shot. Nice sharp detail. I think it's probably a song sparrow. Siskins tend to have a yellow bar on their wings and at the base of the tail which isn't evident here, also I think it's a bit more reddish than what siskins would be. Hope this helps. Cheers, Gary
