great use of foreground, the rock is pleasing enough and then we have Mt. Ranier to look forward to above which is exposed equally grande

I love this picture and I really think the branch adds to the image as it helps distinguish between the motion of the water and the still of the forrest. If I had 1 criticism it would be that the water is a little over exposed but I am sure it was not an easy image to capture!!! well done

Yes, remove the blue from the rock. I tried it. made a new layer then, on the background, image/adjust/saturation/blue and reduce the blue to nill. Then use the eraser to brush in the rock with the cast removed...

Hey Pat thanks for the suggestions. What do you menan about the blue cast? Do you mean get the blue out? because I was thinking that it was already perhaps a bit on the bluer side. I will try the selective sharpening - I know it works well on eyes in portrait shots! Thanks Pat.

Ryan, Great composition! Ireally like this shot. Played with it a bit in PS. Try a bit of Unsharp mask. But selectivly to the rock, water and trees, leave the Mountain alone. And also, get the blue cast of the rock. I think you might like the results...

Again, teriffic shot!!

Is that hoar frost on the trees or just snow?

I like how it evokes different emotions within people. Even with just me, I waver between moody and peaceful.

Ryan,

sorry for the confusion. Standard color is a term of my S2, it means an improved color that is in my opinion good for the skin/portraits. The settings of the Nikons are different. But to be honest I dont know the management of the D100.

CLS is a feature of the latest Nikon flashes. In general the flashe(s) are not on the camera but on the left/ right or behind the model (like a studio flash) and they have special features.

My idea was to use such a flash or another (that has a photo cell) to fill a little "white light".
The signal will come from the intern D100-flash, settings manually.
What I wanted to say, the green (reflected) light on the skin will be away by using an extern flash.

When I am outdoor, maybe I use a filling flash for 10 %, more often a reflector. But I do not very often shoot outdoor, more often at my -indoor- locatons or in studio.

Sorry also for being a little late to come back to our discussion. My internet-pc?s hardware crashed and in the next days I will be very seldom in www
The repair of it will take some time ...

Cheers, Frank
