Hi Liane.
Congrats on tackling such a tough subject you have handled it admirably. The exposure is spot on with good detail in highlights and shadow areas.
The one thing the image lacks is a focal point as there is no real place for my eye to rest which results in the picture being busy.
Simplifing the image by concentrating on certain elements within the scene may have also helped in producing a stronger photograph.
It's still a nice interpretation of the urban landscape.
Regards Mark

Thanks Pat. Unfortunately I don't develop the images myself, I haven't found a place that teaches color developing. Do you do your own developing? Thanks for the suggestion; I've never used slide film. Regards, Liane

Liane: Excellent color and detail in this one! Great Macro. Are you processing your own film or do you take it to a lab? Either way you may want to try some color slide film. I only say this because that's what I did on a sugestion of another member and was astonished at the quality difference. Excellent shot!

I am not a fan of PS and such but I was drawn to this image. The title made me think of things once new, fresh... and I see it was in Shhcaga! I was just there over the weekend with my wife. Great city!

Thanks Bryan, your generous. I haven?t even attempted to count how many shots it took to get an acceptable one. Definitely not something I would try without a digital.

A lovely portrait with masterly lighting but rather spoiled by the red bubbly bits in the top right hand corner. Take those out and you have something special.

Nice photo Liane, self-portraits aren't always easy to do. The lighting is nicely balanced. Perhaps you could remove the catchlights from the irises of your eyes and just leave the ones in your pupils, one highlight in each eye looks more natural.
