thanks to everyone for the nice comments on this one, i liked it and felt it was a worthy upload to the forum since it has such a tropical feeling.... its not something i would expect out of the high country mid west here in colorado.

the flowers in the lower right were actually blooming and part of the image, but however there was a very dark blah area in the extreme lower right... i added a bunch of the flowers there, and no one seemed to notice the PS work, must mean something... thanks for all the views and comments

Hi Phillip, the wife and I was just at 7 falls Friday. Was beautiful.
We also went up to Helens falls, only a couple miles away from 7 falls.
It was nice also but we did get a little rained on Still a excellent day.
Your image of 7 falls is very good, shows great depth and has a feeling of looking over the edge.
Well done. Have a good day.

looks like a gorgeous day Phil... thanks so much for your birthday wishes, it would've been topped off if i had 'Daisy' here with me, they told me on Friday that it would be another 5 weeks... so i told them to jump in the lake and send it back... geez for something that would only take them half an hour at the most to do, it's going to be gone 6 weeks all up... not happy jan..!!!
cheers

Great action shot Phil... the spray has been sharpy caught and really hints at the speed of the surfer. Excellent timing too to catch him at the top of the wave in mid carve. Wonderful!

The mark of good PS work is that it is invisible and to me this looks totally natural. I think this is a stunning image Phil. The composition is spot on with the branch in the foreground giving excellent interest and providing an anchor point for the eye. Everything appears to be well detailed and crisp, clean and sharp and the atmosphere of the clouds is very tangible. I think this is superb! Well done!

Perfect Shot of the inbound part of a carve looking at the trail you've also captured. As a surfer and amatuer photographer this shot's worthy of a magazine entry. Superb!!!
My Summer of surfing in 'The Gower' starts soon if the weather keeps up!!

Look forwards to seeing more like this

good shot..
the details is very good , i couldn't do this with my shot..i think becouse i prefered to use slow shutter speed to make the motion effect of the hand...

That is for shure a great joy. There is no happier day them a powder day. I was living in Tahoe this winter, just fantastic, a lot of snow. In the last that of Heavenly (may/1) there was still a little powder, just great.
Cheers.

Nice Phillip
Very beautiful scenery.
I like everything about this shot but I do think that the large black frame kinda leans the picture to appear a bit dark. Doesn't ruin the picture at all just shades it darker.
If this was shot the weekend during the storms I know how you feel, I was on the other side and we got about 8" of snow on hwy 14 near Rand....but it was still beautiful
I think you take good pictures, but I must say your quality did improve when you went to the Canon.
Keep it up
PS I do see the rocks and tree under the water and you have many shades of green in the trees. Hope this helps.

Hi Phillip, i came across this one whilst reading the comments I think it's great and you caertainly have done a good job on it. Yes, i can see all the detail, rocks on the bottom etc. Looks good to me. Maybe my only nitpick would be the weather! Early morning or late evening would be even better, but you couldn't do much about that. And it does match your title
Nice work,
Best wishes Neil

Might need just a tad more detail out of shadows. Or my monitor is too dark.

Tough luck with fly fishing. The feeling is well known.

thanks kelly, its actually about 7 diff layers all with different combinations of lighting, level adjustments, coloring, and dodging and burning to blend the lines.... i figured i would see what people thought about the post work, the original is much different from what is here but the sky is blown out, the water is a little lighter, and the trees a bit darker, and the rocks mid levels are crushed a bit... thanks again for the always welcome possitive feedback
