hey tom, thanks for the comment and noticing the title is missing the L, now i have to reupload it for the third time and loose all the valuable feedback, its possible that i might just say heck with it and leave the image up... the experiment is coming along, with more views uploaded in the AM, i feel your right with the upload time of 3 to 6pm eastern standard, i would enjoy winning some awards but am looking more for just critique and good feedback on the work, which is hard sometimes seeing that i do it myself, click on images that my eye catches through the thumbnails...

i enjoy your work very much and enjoy the feedback and critique anytime..

thanks again

I like it good use of logn exposure to enhache the flow of the river.
Dark tones feeling is is very close to that moment (IMHO).

Don't care about views on UF, people is watching from every place of the world, so there isn't a good time to post but only good pictures, and this is a good one!
Enjoy taking picture and continue posting...

Take care Fabio.

philip, excellent work. this is definitely an award contender. i like your experiment, btw. i went through a similar test last year although instead of awards, i was looking for more views and comments. i found that the key upload time is when the most eyeballs are on usefilm which was at the time between 3PM - 6PM EST monday through thursday. forget friday through sunday. very few people are on during the weekend and your upload will be seen by very few.

in order to figure out when the most folks are on uf, i kept track of new uploads and new comments per hour over the course of a few days. i guess this would still work today.

btw, you have a built-in excuse to reupload it: i noticed the title in the frame is missing the L in "boulder". once you see it it's hard to ignore.

i'd love to hear how your experiment comes along.

take care,
tom

I can't believe you haven't won an award yet. Your portfolio is fantastic and definitely among the best I've seen. I hope you get some recognition soon.

thanks for your wonderful comment laurie, i have noticed that time has helped this one, i uploaded the image on the 30th at around 11PM central USA time, and only got 17 views through the night and three comments, one being the amazing photographer from aussie kelly munce, i reuploaded this morning the 1st of july at 6AM and already by 9:10 i have got 29 views on the image,

the reasoning im doing this test is to see when staff and awards go out, i feel that my work can contend with some of the winners and might be getting overlooked as per the time i upload, looking at the winners, there seems to be a bunch around 9:00 PM central US time, possible thats when i need to start uploading and possible same with many others that seem to get lost in the mass uploads of so many talented photographers..

thanks again laurie,

Very impressive image due to contrast and long exposure. The frame enahances the mood of image.

I love the long exposure--it really makes the water look extra smooth. This image has a mysterious feel to me and I like it!

Regarding your theory, I'll be interested to see what your experiment yields. I do think time of day and day of the week both have a lot to do with how many views an image gets.

Phillip I think this is a lovely composition, the delicacy of the colours, especially in the pinky clouds - the ripples that could be sea or sand and the weed in the corner- really excellent. I think for me maybe the border is a little heavy for the beauty of the image, I tried a lighter drop shadow one, [which I will attach] and a black border as you have got but much thinner - see what you think ....

this reminds me of Close Encuonters of the 3rd kind - as it will to everyone I guess

a different angle gives it a whole new cnotext though -g really effective lines in there.

thanks ben, it didnt get the views and reviews i thought it would, seeing that the sky almost seems as if it is opening up to let light shine through, i found it to be a great color study and nightscape...

thanks for the comments,
let me know if the studio jam falls through.....

hey ben, i dont think you would want to drop this one, it lands into a super shallow pool which is only about 5 feet round, then droppes another 40 to 50 feet down to the bottom off another fall, this is the third fall up on seven falls in colorado springs area...... looks like it isnt in colorado huh.. super tropical from my eyes

Very nice Phil. I have been there and it is a massive and interesting rock. I think you captured it well here, I really like your low POV and great exposure. Alls well !!

Excellent surfing action shot. The composition is very good. We see the surfer in his wider surroundings, and moving into the frame. Excellent work!

Philip,

Very nice shot. I like the clouds and sky, which you captured well. I also like the use of the boulder as a foreground interest, though from the angle it is hard to gage its size. But i guess a higher angle would mean losing the tower itself.

Nice work overall, and thanks for your comment!

The image is great with an interesting viewing angle. The only objection is the large frame/mat seems to dwarf the image, reduces it's scale.
