It really quite neat, when you got close to them they would take to the air and fly all around you and then when you got further away they would form back into a group like this.

I think this might actually be a female as it was traveling with a smaller whale which I suspect might have been her calf. I'll try and get a pciture of them both together posted soon.

Yes I was careful with my cameras, once I got closer I started using a waterproof Pentax.

It really wasn't too bad most of the time, either around or slightly above zero. I actually spent quite a bit of time out on deck in a t-shirt, but I guess Canadian winters more than prepared me for the Antarctic summer.
