I think this is a very difficult shot. It is impossible to have the tree and the pavilion good, the contrast is too large. But I think the tree deserves to be photografed. It is a very nice and interesting trunk, I should take it closer.
Best regards.
Ferdinand

Really nice composition here, with the sloping wall leading us away from the bench, and then the out of focus bushes in the foreground leading us back...really nice

Wonderful details on the lampshade myles, I think I might have cropped a bit off of the left side. The lighting and subtle tones are great, you have captured a beautiful color. Alison

wow! this is a really cool flower, kind of un-earthly almost! i wonder if TJ originally planted these there... excellent composition, i like how you can see the house but it doesn't distract from the flowers! great shot! Kess

Sameh - After reading your comment I went back to the original and realized there is no noise in it. I think the noise originated when I changed the image size so i could post it on here. Thanks for the advice!

This is a lovely flower photo, Miles,in focus all over allowing the building behind (Thomas Jefferson's home?) to be seen very well.
Thank you for your generous comment on my "Black devil."

Nice color tones and texture. but if you don't mind ,i have a suggestion , that you can reduce the noise at the background, any way good job and well done.
And thanks for your comments on my photos.

Wonderful flower Myles, they look like a natural candelabras, and a fitting flower for Jefferson's home. I like how you have featured this and have also given us a peek at the home behind. Alison

Maybe we ill see you up here?

nice work myles! i'm pretty sure i'd already told you i like this one... one of my favorite parts is the little brick path on the right whose linear composition contrasts nicely with the wildness of the vines and berries! i guess i would agree that cropping off the left part a bit could be a good change... and definitely excellent in b&W! well done b! Very nice and interesting view, although I might have cropped out the piece of vine on the left. The textures are great and you have a lot of interesting patterns going on. Works well in the B/W. You and Kessia will have to go out on photo shoots. Alison

This is our first, but hopefully not last meeting on the pages of "Usefilm", Mr. King (and this is, more or less, my standard opening whenever I meet a new UF member.) You wrote in your bio that you were an undergraduate student of psychology and that immediately aroused my interest as I'm a psychoanalyst. I asked myself (and you) if we could possibly have common interests. I looked through your portfolio. What I saw was an excellent use of nature, people and objects to create images with excellent captions. When first meeting a new UF freind try to comment on the first photo that friend poted last. This is because many times that photo is a representative of quite a few of his other photos. This is the case here also. In many of your photos you depicted nature in a very interesting way and this lovely photo of the convoluted tree is a good representative of that trend.
You are, of course, invited to read my bio and pay further visits to my portfolio.
In the meantime I thank you for your kind comment on my "Figure in colors 2."
Best regards,
Dr. Rafael (Rafi for future communications) Springmann

Myles besides the obvious which you have mentioned, it is a really interesting shot. I love the perspective and the way the beautiful tree trunk is your main focus, the colors are also wonderful and the shot has beautiful details and depth. Nicely seen. Alison

Uno scatto assolutamente incredibile, č impressionante come il tronco dellaa pianta sembri parte armoniosa dell'architettura, quasi una colonna portante.
peccato per la risoluzione un pņ povera di pixel, avrebbe potuto diventare perfetta...
