Well I guess Im going to have to get a little guy of my own to take shooting with me :) I see Gail and Rina are taking them everywhere as are you, they make for a whole variety of scenes, very nice series as Gene goes through his adventures...

wow this is really origianl work, the leg looks a though it is growing in the ground, to view this many things come to mind, and i think that is what photography is all about, great work...

Thanks John, what I meant was there are a few issues within the shot that are wrong, the hot head for instance, this shot should have been shot at -1/2 ev, but i was metered for more light when he jumped from the tree, and more PS then i really like..

yes i do find formation amazing, when you think about 1250AD the phrase "only the rocks live forever" comes to mind. really great stuff here. I actuall didnt notice the slightly bright sky until you mentioned it as there is still a bit of blue it it, and I think should you have tried to compensate for it you would have lost the nice detail within the rocks..

Thanks bill, it was almost 4000 at F/5, I did notice from the past when shooting HBs at F/5 anything over 2000 will freeze the wings, though a hummer alone IMO looks best with a bit of wing blur, in this case i was waiting for the hawk to fly when this guy started flying circles around him, was actually kind of funny to see...
Take Care.

Well If you look at my second to last shot it was with the 40D, and my last shot was with the 30D, the problem with the 1d III exists with the 40D, I couldnt get it to lock on anything with any lens, so it went back...
Canon needs to get on the ball!
Take care..

Hi rodger, this is a very intresting scene as the blowing weeds and the background are close in color, but it does work for me as the nice textures do give good seperation and a very eye pleasing shot..
