The bird is called a Jungle Cock and is commonly used as the cheek feather in classic salmon flies. The pelt is from a farm raised bird, not wild. It has always been one of my favorite feathers to work with.

Great macro shot. You did a nice job maintaining enough depth of field to get the two pairs of leaves in focus, while letting the rest blur. I don't mind the border, but I'm not a huge fan of having it disappear into the dark areas...just my personal preference.

Very nice image. I tend to prefer a thin stripe of something that pulls a color out in the image when making a border. Just my taste. Great capture.

Good capture (Really like the caps texture and the moss). what's the name of the mushrooms. Are they edible? (the reason I'm asking is that I took a pic of a mature one I want to post and I don't know anything about the species) Regards, Hanna
