It's no accident that you saw it and said yes!

Debbie; I'm looking through your portfolio like I'd never seen it before. All of a sudden I can see what you saw. This is great.

Hi Kim. This is a great moment but it seems that there are two subjects fighting with each other.

The shot of the teepee without the dogs convinces me that the dogs are really the main subject here. That said, the lines of the teepee are leading my eyes up and away from them.

I really like the way the dogs are standing out against the interior background. They look like an old married couple. I'd be tempted to crop the picture in half and resubmit it to see what people think.

Thanks Elangovan.

It's true. I had to be quick to get this close to Jenny's sweet little kitten face. As soon as she realized I was giving her this much attention, she did a quick multicoating test on my lens with her nose. BONK.

Very hard to remove! A good argument for a UV filter.

Hi Ryan. You did a great job getting Kee Kee to stand out against the background. Now if you could just get her to look at you. But hey, kittens. They don't do anything you expect them to do, do they?

Lots of fun! This model looks sexy and alluring without the man killer attitude. Too bad so many women are portrayed in fashion as being so angry. Nice change of pace.

Why is this image so popular? Why is a daisy so popular? Here's my theory. Both are simply beautiful. Simplicity is an increasingly treasured value in our complex world. This flower, so free of flaws and the ravages of life also represents purity and perfection. An untainted innocence. No matter how hard you try, I don't think you could improve on the composition. It is correct. It is righteous. The flower itself is sunny and bright representing the sun and its rays. All daisies do this, but this one does it better than most thanks to the lighting and background you have employed. The background tones cover the spectrum of visible daylight and are an equally important element to the flower itself. It is as if you have captured nature's spiritual life essence in the background. So much more powerful and life affirming than the void of black velvet. Finally, there is a sence of mystery here. The alchemy of light which juxtaposes the lower light illuminating the surface of the flower with the higher position light of the super natural daylight background adds an element of magic which is hard to detect but easy to enjoy. Maybe I sound like a madman, but I see all of this in this modest effort and like the others who have commented before me, I can only sum it up by simply saying WOW!

Very interesting. It looks better in the thumbnail than it does in the enlargement above. That probably means it looks better when you step back from it a couple of feet. Reminds me of a shroud.

I love the focus on this macro. You are sharp in just the right places. I can almost taste the dirt. Also, both the light and colours are sumptuous. My only complaint, and it is a very small one, is that the inside of the dark curve above the bottle is pulling my attention up away from the subject. I would have cropped that dark cresent out completely which I beleive would have improved the background.

Astounding. Just wish I had thought of it myself. I think I would have cropped out the highlight area at the top of the frame, but that's not going to keep me from adding this to my favourites. congratulations on a fantastic image!

You nailed the light which is beautiful and painterly but what did the uncropped image look like? I would have liked to see a bit more to the left side of the frame. Great capture.

Alisa; your pictures are consistently leaving me with absolutely nothing to say. It must be a good thing. It feels like a good thing.

As a person somewhat addicted to colour, I have to admit that sometimes black and white says all there is to say. This has got to be one of those times. Congratulations!

I really, and I mean really, really like everything below the lower limit of the top branch. Everything above that point does nothing to improve the image for me. Without the top, I would give this image an 11 out of ten. With it, I am inclined to give it an eight.

Gary; your portfolio is superb! I will not give you any photographic advice. You are well adhead of me in that department. You really know how to handle an 8 x 10.

May I make a small suggestion however, that you turn off the borders when uploading your pictures to this site. Your 3D shadow will show to much better advantage and your beautiful prints will float elegantly above the web page. Note that you can also turn off the borders on previously uploaded pictures by using the edit photo function.

Also, if you place your copyright notice in the upper left of the image, at least on vertical images like this one, it is more likely to show all of the information.

Outstanding as usual. Could be just jealousy talking, but I do notice some stray dust on this image. You must have cats!
