Hugo ! I'm just unpacking my bags from a long stay in Paris, trying to learn more about night pictures... And, yes, a nice message from you.. plus, plus some pictures of you from .. Paris by night. Ah ah, Europe is so little. I need time to watch more carefully at your work. But right now, I'm mainly very happy to see sign of life from you.
Beaubourg, object of hate and love for french people as me. Even after these long years, I'm not able to be sure about my own feelings : The stairs look as a living worm. They are trying to eat the old Paris, here visible with the old lamp post, but, after all these years, who eats who ?

Hi John,
The people are on the opposite platform; doubt if you could create a reflection in the windows of a passing train, let alone one without me in the picture:)

Heheheh. Hi Petros!
Can only say that for stock, there are too many recognisable people and the image lacks quality....
I do appreciate the way of looking at the negative space on top and bottom - never considered that - yet, I do like the depth created by the beams on top and the tiles in front. But yes, I happily admit the stock element is there.
Cheers,
Hugo

This has a nice "stock photography" feel to it. Decent amount of motion making this image come to life. I was in two minds about framing this with so much room on the top and bottom. But on second inspection, I think it works best just the way you have it. Good job Hugo :-)

Interesting shot my dear Hugo, the imaging of the passing cars mirrors the reflection of the passengers waiting, or are they viewed from an opposing platform? Nicely conceived and, as usual, the exposure is spot-on. Best regards, john

Ha Riny,
Nice to hear from you! I don't have one with a very high shutter speed, because there wasn't enough light, and it would've just frozen the train, and that's not the result I wanted to achieve. The primary subject isn't the metro, it's the group of people, IMO.
Cheers,
Hugo

A great combination of creative decisions, Hugo! An admirable result! Strong saturation is great as it adds to the "roar" of the image impact. Composition is also dynamic and supportive of the movement. Eb

hi hugo...
finally i see another work,..from parisian-life-series a nice nightshot! So beautiful that it seems cold,.Tones of blue certainly help this scene, .. Surely the sky "gray" Paris by also results! It is remarkable that the diagonal-a my opinion- have created good until the last part of the "third" frame. This picture is also very geometric with the floor, the lamp and sectors that have been created! This is the great resul of "cool" ..
I hope that you are well .. All the best
cheers
roby

Hey, my mate!
What a great shot! You captured this one far better than I did! All I can remember about the night was how cold it was. A lovely night scene, indeed.
Now, to be 'picky'.
After viewing this image, the only thing that I would have done differently would be to not line up the two street lights, one behind the other. I think the effect would be better if they were apart or separate...if you know what I mean. It's late at night....I'm too tired to explain it better.
Apart from that, as I said, it's a lovely night scene.
Talk to you soon.
Phil

Hey AJ,
This wasn't exactly a nice night out; it was raining, and rather cold for the time of year. Not many people around, and the few that were there are probably way too blurred due to the 45s exposure. Besides, the Centre was already closing; Hardly anybody inside, either, except some security guards.
Still, the absence of people also creates the unusual aspect in this image, and the relative calm does sort of create a contrast with the busily lit building, don't you think?
Cheers,
Hugo
