The tones are very nice...I tend to just convert to grayscale...so this is inspiring and I should experiment...thanks for sharing! Beautiful, natural girl as well---love the freckles and the braids!!!!

Nice mood and ply with light. In my opinion the shot came out too much soft (or it is due to the scanning process) and fuzzy. Good composition.
Regards.

Good shot and lighting, Wouter, I think it is a bit fuzzy and slightly too soft, though. Well spotted, and very well composed, my compliments. By underexposing, you lost a bit of contrast in the shadowy parts, but I think it was a good choice of balancing the light and the reflections on the water.

Cheers,

Hugo

The expression is spot on... makes me think of looking at old photographs in the family album. but, I have to wonder if that was your intention? If the faded/antique look wasn't what you were going for, perhaps trying to add some contrast and boost the levels a bit would help this image.
I don't mind the faded look, as it adds a nice quality of emotion.

Mooi plaatje Wouter.
Groeten Tim.

Very nice how you captured her expression. This one definately fits the Intimate Portrait project. One thing is the harsh shadows, perhaps you could've gotten rid of them by the use of a reflector, or some fill flash.

Hi Wouter, I think the part with the interesting rainbow effect is too light, making it less visible. Therefore I expect that with some underexposure you would have achieved a better result. Or: if your camera has spot metering, you could have used it to mneasure light on the part with the rainbow. It is also very well possible that the photo is printed too light: the darkest parts aren't really black. So you can go back to the lab and ask to print it a little darker. See attachment for how it may look like with better exposure / printing (I adjusted the tone scale; besides of that, I darkened the light edge, and lightened up the girls face a little bit).
