Hi dear Wouter, I love Kids and I think everybody knows it! tis shot is really wonderful, the way this lovely girl looks and .... I think I'm in agree with Pat Ziegler, you've done 85% of the shot the best but I think it needs more vibrant color tones to show the feeling of a young lady's vibrance! I add some color changes to your post (I wish it doesn't bothering you anyway) using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 1. Again, very well done, Mohammad

Hmmm. I immediately notice that the tip of the vane of the nearest wind generator is touching the edge of the frame... I feel it needs a little more space than that. Also, all the wind generators appear to be leaning slightly to the left, which is rather unsettling. The power lines crossing in the distance, and that pylon, rather spoil the simple line of the wind generators but of course there's no help for that. Also I think just a little more detail in the shadows (perhaps just enough to make the shore line clear and break up that solid clump of black on the right) might have helped. That said, I think this is a fine scene, beautiful colours, with great potential. I hope you visit it again! Oh yes, perhaps there is more detail in the blacks on your monitor? I know we do not all see things as the photographer himself or herself sees them.
PS My policy on comments is exactly the same as yours...

This is just one possible way to get that 'high key' effect. If I would do it again, I'd preserve and enhance the eyes and mouth from the original, and punch those in for that particular effect after I'd reached the stage, below. But I think this expression is faithful to the original.

Very whimsical and fanciful image. I think it takes us all back to childhood (or perhaps parenthood for some). You have captured the sense of adventure and freedom one feels when swinging so high. Very good work.
On the crop, I believe this is very good as it is. If the original has more unobstructed sky to the right and above, you might try positioning the figure to the lower left in that shot, which would create an even bigger sky and a more pronounced feeling of freedom and wonder. Yet it is a lovely shot cropped as it is now!
Regards, Mark

Groeten.

Hello Wouter,
Very nice portrait ! Good composition, interesting perspective and nice moment. I like the contrast in colors between the boy's face and hair and the rest of the picture. This directs the attention straight te the boy. Compliments.

I really like your portfolio... particularly the portraits. There's something a little 'old-fashioned' (in a good way) about many of them. 2 words that sum them up for me are 'relaxed' & 'warm'.

Bruce

Hi Wouter... this image imediatley caught my eye... you are right.. those reflections are fantastic... I think personally I would have cropped it down to just the two main windmills & then erased that awful pylon (thought that's just my opinion!)
I think you have caught the colours here perfectly... & I really love the silhouetted grass bordering the side.
Keep well & bright Quix x

Wouter, not a bad image. I would crop the left side in to get rid of the clump of black, then the horizon would let the eye follow through. Too bad that the top of the blade is cropped too close it is in the reflection but not in the sky. These are my opinions only.

Hello Wouter - TY for your comments on my Brixham harbour photo. VMA
I see from your own portfolio that you like to take portrait shots and I really like this one. I think that the child's eyes and expression have been well captured and the angle of the face with the tight crop to the framed picture works so well. I must try to expand on my own portraiture shots a little more from now on.
