Funny you should say that Nicola, here is another shot, the genesis,it is from Melbourne goal.......and would have been one of the last sights that Ned Kelly saw before his execution.

Another wonderful portrait , David.
OK , your Nikon D70 camera has done its job...but you are an artist , so I mean that without a genial talent , nothing can be created . This portrait is an original creation . Indeed .

Thanks for commenting.
I was into urban exploration back in 79/80
there were a few of us who were either under ground (in the tunnels under our village) on roof tops or in abandoned buildings.
A couple of years ago my friend who is also a keen photographer, took me to a couple of abandoned asylums.....all fenced up,warning signs all over, and bloody dangerous inside....floorboards rotten, walls collapsing, still we got some good shots.
I cannot recommend people go into places like that, the potential for accidents is very high,as I said to Andy,"We must be bloody mad lurking about in here"

Very interesting site David!
I was just listening to the radio the other day when someone was being interviewed on Urban Exploring. He was talking about going into abandoned factories to shoot images and just plain explore. I can image it to be quite exciting, with just a little element of danger involved. There is a little forbiden fruit feeling and a little bit of the feeling of visiting another life somehow. I get very nostalgic when shooting old abandoned cars, and trucks.

Mmmm.....I read a book called creepers,(author Morrell,)about urban exploration...thats more like it.The photo is from a dis-used asylum in the U.K. I used to hear the name of the place and was facinated,me and a friend decided to take a look a year or two ago,we got many great shots.......you can see another great site featuring Hellingly, see www.opacity.us D.

I think this apocalyptic image deserves a lot more attention.
I'm reading Stephen Kings "The Cell" at the moment, and this image would fit right in with that story.
