Very interesting PoV, Gerhard. I always find it hard to do justice to these very large monuments, especially when they are closely surrounded by other structures. This is an even more serious problem when the structure is as ornate as the Duomo of Florence. At least we didn't have to contend with ugly overhead cables!:-)

Sorry Gerhard, but i have to back in your wonderful portfolio and comment this your solar capture, mainly, for intimate reasons:-); when i was a child i took the ferry boat from naples and i went to procida in order to swim and fish with my friends in corricella bay :-) Now i work far from naples (and procida:-( and your stupend vision have came back my mind at that simple and glourious days!
A great composition, technically well composed as chromatic contrast and cut...and for me very evocative.
Regards and thanks,
Marco

Poignant shot. Homelessness knows no ethnic boundaries.

I would suggest cropping some of the foreground. Right now the image looks a little "top heavy" to me.

Great editorial shot. It's amazing how many people in this country are living on the streets.

Beautiful shot! Southern Thailand is also one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. I'd love to spend my 'golden years' there or on Bali. Tough choice!

Never, and I mean never, have I made a comment on a landscape image. I just don't, most of the time it's because I'd rather be there to view it. Other times it's because the image just doesn't do justice to what we're looking at.

BUT! This image just takes my breath away!

WAY TO GO GERHARD!!!!!

You are right an ad-campaign with photos like this would probably raise more attention but also an intense discussion - you remember Benetton? Most companies will not risk to combine their products with any kind of negative feeling.

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh my . . . . . . I am not sure what to say . . . . . the image of these grossly dirty unkept feet is overwhelming. good job
fern
p.s. couldn't you see photographing feet this like a commerical ad for feet, but instead of a model's perfect foot, you should these in that light? (and hands, and torsos, hair like in a shampoo ad, etc) . . . . . anyway, powerful picture

Great colors and I like the composition: the repetition and the clear lines together with the pastel colors compensate the fact that this is indeed a very busy picture. Well done, congrats, Jorg

Wonderful shot from exactly the right angle, that permits to see the end (or turn) in the canal .. wonderful variation of brownish colours .. see my portfolio for some canal-shots too .. regards, Peter
