ON my next summer trip to your neck of the woods I will have to stop here and redo the image. Its only about 6 minutes off Route 10. Maybe Ill split the image before after. As I told the park rangers, "If I hadn't been here before in the summer, I'd think this was a great place to live!"
Thanks for looking. JB

The positioning of any singular item in a photograph is always a matter for reconsideration. I will not lose sleep over this one though, the better image is still in the can as it were. I shot film as well and the film shots were a few minutes later and were graced with sun the improved the scene IMHO. Thus I will get to argue the composition again in a few days or a week.

Here I sit at work, a mere 2 hours from those flowers and I can't get out to make pictures.
Dang! Very nicely done. I'd like to make one that good. I can't critic the flatness like David did as my work monitor really really bites.

George is looking pretty relaxed for a guy with a broken leg. Must be good medications! I see a lot of stuff in that image that I don't know how to decribe but its all good. Hope he gets well quick!.

Of your 3 images on this subject, I like this one the most. Perhaps because of memories I have from standing among trees in such weather. The clarity of the foreground tree reminds us of the cold clear air so that we can better appreciate the blowing snow moving in the forest.
Nice job, good feelings, well crafted, and better that you froze to take it than me.

Thats a bit different for you, or of your recent work anyways. Nice. I like the soft colors and the atmosphere icluding the rain drop splashing. Two small points though. He needs a catch light in the eye and I think its actually a hippopottomus (however its spelled) and not a water buffalo. From that rainy day at the zoo series, eh.?

Deep seated social anxiety no doubt. While you are speculating, why are the children not content with the mother figure and seeking out the male?
I guess they are greating father, home from the factory.

I think its a three dimensional model of a seal lion's lower intestions? Or a series of Kazoos melted togethet in the desert sun? A scale model of a a Venusian fangle blaster?

Let us know what you find out.

Evangelos - As good as this picture is, and it is very good, I am fascinated by your main subject and the light coming in over his shoulder. A think a really strong protrait could be worked her by moving in closer or cropping. I've added a crop to illustrate my point. Good stuff indeed.- JB

A bit of honesty may be needed here Roger. I messed up on this image. First off, I had been playing with camera settings so this was accidently shot as a small, highly compressed jpeg instead of the prefered large size Raw format. The sky was white so I PSed in a poor hazy blue. The tones on the Buddah are real. It was in shade so I used the on camera flash to fill in. Exposure was manually set to make the exterior parts of the image properly exposed with the flash filling in the interior spaces. Just thought I'd share. The Leica IS very flexible and the optics challenge me to stress them. Thanks for commenting - John

You have a wonderful porfolio and are an artist. I liked Park Bridge best. I don't think the bird added much here. Wrong type of bird, wrong emotional context. Now a swan! That might be magnificent. Great job sir. JB

I did not have Infra-red with me on any of my trips up there. Now I have to make another trip!
I have been doing IR in Death Valley but this image of yours is great! The trees seem very dark in the foreground. Are you certain this is IR?
Excellent image in any case. - JB
