Thank you for the comments. He is a mix. A mix of what, we do not know. We have been told German Shepard/Blake Lab. We got him when he was only 3 months old from the MSPCA. When we saw him we knew we had to have him. He had big ears and huge paws, real funny looking. He is now 100lbs and his back I kitchen table high. He is a great dog.

excellent shot of your dog! Is it a mixture? Shepard and ??? Looks similar to my dog, which is a German Shepard/Siberian Husky Mix.

Hi Alexi,
Just to give general opinion since you haven't asked for specifics...
I think the shot is let down by the large area that is out of focus (DOF). Because of the closeup nature of the shot, depth of field is reduced massively. I think you'd gain a singificant improvement by cropping far more tigh Please Add a Constructive Comment:

tly around the in-focus berries. I'd keep some of the out of focus stem leading to the berries, as this gives the image depth.
I'd say whatever the brown line in the background is, you'd have been better composing such that it wasn't in the shot - the red berries against a varied green (DOF'ed out of focus) background might work better. Finally, I think you'd have been better using a tripod (assuming you didn't), and a smaller aperture to get more depth of field so that at least the berries are all sharp. As they're all tightly packed, letting them go out of focus seems to me to mush them together.
I hope that helps and isn't discouraging, just my opinions! Chris PS No rating from me as I prefer just to comment.

What a great profile shot. These are not always easy to get from a dog as they like to see what you are doing. Nice shot.

Can you explain what you would like help with? The description of this project states: "Upload any picture you need help with. This is an opportunity to ask for specific help on a photograph. In the about box state exactly what you would like help improving in your image."

good. is not bad! but take care of the focus and frame. I would prefer in focus the house and not cutting the trees, I mean an upper picture.
Cheers

You idea cannot be faulted, but the execution demands a tack sharp center of interest for the large out of focus areas to work. It just misses being sharp at the center.

love the shallow DOF and the color - good detail at the heart - however, I wish that the comp were different - this seems too predictable too me...
