This is defini9tely your best. It6 kinda reminds me of ME when I was a young lad.. Except this little boy does not seem shy like I was. Nice.

Adorable child. The expression is one of pure joy! Light seems just a tad bright IMO.

nice shot, lovely boy. maybe you can darken the green background a bit, make it less stinging.

Nice skin tones though, since you've opened the floor for criticism, I would like to see the skin a little more saturated, especially for digital. Just my humble opinion. I like the expresion you've caught him in, though.

Hi Marcy

I think for me the big thing missing in this image is the lack of catchlights in the eyes. They seem a little lifeless so to speak. I think Richard made a valid comment about the composition of the photo, but I wouldn't have cropped it as severely as he has. I would have only pulled in the left edge so that the boy is looking into the image.

I don't think that it is a 'bad' image though.

Best regards
Seano

I am not sure there is anything needed, unless trying to make it "Colder" to fit expression.
Nice

"Come on guys! I need to know why this image isn't GREAT. What should I have done to improve?"

My opinon?

Your subject is too centered in the frame, for one thing. I'd crop it in significantly from either the left or the right. You'll get a different effect from each side, depending on what kind of mood you want to generate.

Also, the lines in the bricks are too angled for my taste. I'd rotate to get them more parallel to the top and bottom of the frame. Because of the perspective, they can't be perfectly parallel, but I think a little *more* parallel would make them much less distracting, and help them focus more on the child.

Here's my take:

Marcy, this is such a lovely image. Love the clarity and the saturated colours in this. His expression is beautiful and so natural. You are talented!!
Best regards

PS I will respond shortly, still trying to get my head around a couple of things... Moving home in a few days, so things are mad. :P

Marcy, this is lovely. I love the saturation in the colours and your POV is delightful! The softness here is lovely too and he has a lovely expression. A truly sentimental image!

Marcy, Really like the angle of your photo. The texture could be better if you only did it on the sky only to keep the clarity of the effect of the statue. I also like the B & W statue with beautiful colored sky. Marilyn

This is very sweet. The DOF is very nice on this, as is the pleasant blue sky behind the statue. It looks like a nice afternoon, but it is certainly a little sad where you found this.

Very nice, Marcy. I love the subtle colors of this photograph. This is a house we would have called "haunted" as kids.

Came here to check your portfolio after reading some of your forum posts...

Hope your show went well.
