Great shot John, really like the clarity and the backgound is perfect for this type of shot. You have also captured beautiful colors in this one.

Really nice shot Pete. Insect stands out nicel with the soft background. This is how macros should be shot. Also like the single blade of grass he is resting on, gives a good vertical line.

Otto, thanks for your comments on my photo of the Black Crowned Night Heron. You asked several questions about avian photography. I didn't know if this site allows access to members email. I am not a professional photographer, but have been taking serious pics for 30+ years. If you would like to contact me my email I would be more than happy to give advice, if I can.

Nice shot Jim, you have captured excellent detail in this one. It sure helps to have such an elegant subject. But it's more important to have good equipment and the knowledge to operate it.

Wonderfull shot Richard. As alway the clarity and lighting is perfect. I think what makes this shot is the eyes, they almost look glass like. The soft background also provides good separation from the Owl. You must be more of a purist than I am, I would have been tempted to clone out a few of those grass blades around the Owl.
