Ursula, I have been away and as I look at your latest offerings, I am overwhelmed by the way your creativity has blossomed. This photo is so magical in the way that you have made such a bold statement by understating the rich space. You not only captured the butterfly skillfully, you have done so with such artistic flair! This is simply beautiful, and goes directly into my favorites....

Hi Carolyn.. That's very nice of you. We all have different tastes, and I guess yours and mine align well. I am presently exploring the possibility of marketing some of my work. Your kind support is deeply appreciated!

This has a tone that I cannot put my finger on... it isn't what I would call traditional "sepia", but rather, a dreamy/historic bathe. The leaves, so delicately colored, are placed perfectly in the foreground, and the backlighting adds a hopeful flavor. It is haunting, and intoxicating. I think it's beautiful. Bravo, Shirley!

Dammit Jude!!! My horns are protruding through my hair as I read your comment... You are wayyy too in charge of your thoughts, and convey your twisted vision with a steely edge that few others possess. Thank you, thank you for your attitude, your zany-kind words, and for making Devil Man smile....

Holy cow, Carolyn! Kindness like that is not only deeply appreciated, it serves as fuel to push forward! I am thankful that there are so many people with open minds, curiosities, and vision. Your accepting nature and inquisitive mind no doubt serve you well in all facets of life. Many sincere thanks!

Gayle.. I have had so much fun, going back and forth with you, over time. Your edgy attitude, and awesome sense of humor are so refreshing! This muted offering has a sense of delicacy that makes it "feel" like a gift. I appreciate all of your kind words, all of your heels to the groin, and all of your terrific work!

I love the lighting... particularly the way the sunlight catches her face! The combination of the angles and the incredible depth of the sky give this composition wonderful life! This is beautiful, Jeanette, and I am happy that it illustrates your incredible range..

It is easy, when you see a shot like this, to be drawn to the startling, eerie handprints... an amazing find. However, I am even more impressed with your ability to compose this shot with such balance. The fact that you took it from the angle which included the corner and the framing on the adjacent wall, is what lends balance and perspective to your vision. The amateur would probably have shot this from straight-on, and the result would have been flat and uninspired. This has depth, which gives legs to the image, allowing it to run right into your psyche.
Great intuition, Shirley.

Shirley, this is brilliantly composed.. The colors steal the show, but "finding" that color and framing it like you did, is what I am most impressed with. Straight into my Faves..

The darkness on the RH side of this composition add to the melancholy mood, here. I think this plays out well in B&W, and you added the model in a way that is appropriate with the dreamy offering. You have brilliant vision, Shirley!

I don't think there's any irony, that this photo would fit perfectly with the subject matter. I like the grain, and the mood.

See, Gayle?? I'm comfortable enough in my skin to wear magenta! Plus, yes... this place had several inches of asbestos piled everywhere on the floor, and the respirator seemed like a prudent thing to do. You've chased me right out of town till next week, I'll check back in, then. Thanks for the comment, have a great weekend! ..Brad

The timing of this post is extraordinary. I have been gone so long. And I return just to "peek" at my old friends...... and I find your friend in need..... Yes, Spidey. Yes Rina. I will help. Take my hand....we'll wander on up to the Tiki bar and wash down some of that grit with a few frosty ones.
So nice to see your great eye, and sharp wit still forging ahead! Miss you...

Hi Jeanette!
Been gone a long time, but checked in and saw this.... I cannot resist commenting on the serenity and beauty of this shot. It makes me feel relaxed on a day that I am stressed. It makes me smile on a day that I have not. I want you to know that your creativity is soft and warm, yet stunning. Hope all is well....

Awesome. You always pay such fitting tributes to the locations/buildings that you photograph. I am so impressed with the respect that you offer, and the interesting explainations that you give us. I see wisdom in your face, and am not surprised. I see a smirk, smart-alec grin just beneath the serious exterior, and I'm so very pleased by that! This is a wonderfully introspective glimpse, Mr. Photographer.
