Holy _ _ _ _, Jude! Now I must lumber over to a larger space, where my swelled head will fit....
To call myself "flattered" would be an understatement; it is ENTIRELY gratifying to hear you express those feelings. I enjoy letting my mind seep through the cracks as much as you enjoy intercepting it. I'm glad that you seek the dark, curious spaces in our world... it's fun hanging out with you, there!

While I am somewhat distracted by the amount of glare/reflection, I am drawn to the "natural" pattern that is shed on this ladder without thought or intent... Sometimes I think that random, natural patterns offer more to the imagination than conceived ideas. More impressive is your ability to see what few others do. I admire your drive to "find" objects that possess intriguing color, patterns, and textures. I've missed your work......

introspect par excellence....... It's very cool, that you captured his reflection in a manner that he is looking at the subject of the painting. Great eye, Hugo!

Michael, I have been very "hit and miss" with UF the past many months. I am attending a huge festival in Fells Point (historic Baltimore waterfront) in two weeks, and I will exhibit my work for the first time. I'm hoping that there are others who appreciate the darker side of light. You've always been so supportive, and your comments are insightful and thoughtful. I can honestly tell you that your words, and those of everyone else who take the time... inspire me to share my vision. Without the insightful feedback, it would never occur to me that anyone would find it interesting. I'm very thankful to you for your interest and kind words.

Jeanette, It's very easy to dismiss a piece of art OR architecture quickly, because it doesn't immediately make a statement. I have learned to reserve judgement on those items, as I usually find myself intrigued by that which puzzles me. You have captured in a very frank way, exactly that... a style which says both "nothing new here" and "look a little closer". The style is solid and will withstand time. Your personal style so clearly bears out this theory.. Here are the lines. Here are the angles. Here are the shadows. Your vision begs to judge the strength, not the whimsical. You clearly rock..

Glad you liked it, Sheryl. It is a cold and disturbing subject, but overflowing emotion, texture, shadows, and character.

Aniko, this has a very nostalgic feel, derived from both the muted tone and the harsh highlights. They work perfectly together, and you captured an expression on the bride that the viewer can interpret in any way they choose. All of these qualities add up to a wonderful composition that I have enjoyed studying, very much! ~Brad

Congratulations, Shirley! The award is well deserved, as you have captured that thing that is so elusive..... a quiet, reflective child. This shot has all of the atmosphere and charm that you could ever hope to capture, and is presented perfectly in b&w. You should be very proud...! ~Brad
