Excellent composition. Well seen. The tile work on the sidewalk provides excellent contrast with the smooth walls, and the placement of the child in red shoes and shirt is really effective. WOnderful photo. And there is tension here. What is the boy waiting for. Great shot.

I wonder why nobody has commented on this - it is very funny and very well done. I love the lack of textural detail on his neck because but for the ears it could be a thumb or some other equally featureless part of the anatomy.
The ears and the hands and the title work very well to create something funny. But the grain, DOF, and tone make this something that can be viewed for quite a while after the initial aha!

The tone is beautiful the darkness of the framing and the grass makes us want to touch the warmth of the sky - the tilt of the image makes us study it longer and prevents it from becoming abstract.
I only feel that something about the pose is more expectant than lonely...
