Hi Don!

Long time no see - I'm so glad you're still posting to Usefilm as I've lost your email address in our travels. We're now happily settled in Brisbane, Australia, Mikey is 14 months already. I'd love to hear from you and will of course email back once I have your address.

This photo is beautiful, what lovely sky you had that day.

Hi Don,

Thought I'd check in and see what you've been taking of lately and as always viewing your work is a feast for the eyes. I'm glad to see you're still enjoying your D70 and that you're getting to take of so many interesting places.

Take care!

I really like the composition of this, looks like a beautiful area. Seems rather dark though - or maybe it's just my monitor?

Interesting shot - I love the sky! I'd be very interested to see more details on how you did this

Great to love using one's equipment! I agree completely - slides are still wonderful at times, and there's no reason why film or digital should be abandoned in favour of the other. Looking forward to some more MK II shots . I've recently purchased the Nikon D70, and while it doesn't use my old PK mount lenses, I'm having a total ball with it as well.

Hey Nish! Nice composition - looks like you were having really hazy skies when you took this. I had no idea you were still posting here - it's cool to get a look at your hometown

Darrin, this is really well done! Also, you've reminded me to get down there to see the antlers growing.

Seems I've missed your move over to digital - how are you finding it?

Wow this is lovely! The mist really works, it looks almost the same colour as the bluebells themselves. Would you mind telling me where this is? I'm only in the UK for a couple of years, and the sun never seems to be out during bluebell season! I guess this weekend is my last chance. I'm in the South East, so if this would is in the South as well I'm going to be delighted!

The composition and sky here are excellent! Do you live in the area? If so, it might be nice to return either early in the morning or late in the afternoon - that way you should get a lovely reflection of the building in the water. Doesn't the D70 rock?!

Fantastic silhouette! You were lucky she didn't move during the slow shutter exposure. This would look great on a wall in a frame

The colour of this is amazing! Does the water really look so blue? Looks like you found a lovely spot to capture it from.

This is actually just one of many (maybe 100 of the Durdle Door... *blush* ), so I'll post some more till everyone is sick of them.

Very nice composition, nice light too. Was it handheld? A good support would make a lot of difference to this. Well seen.

What an awesome sight! The ships silhouetted against that gorgeous sky works really well. Good to see others enjoying their D70's as well!

Hi David,

If this image is anything to go by, the Usefilm community will be gaining an asset if you do continue posting. My theory on posting on the web is to keep the images small enough that they will be of no real value for printing. If anyone wants a photo of mine for a desktop background and want to download it I'm flattered rather than upset, but then, I still have a lot to learn! I may feel differently one day I guess.

Thanks for your honest comments on my shots. Usefilm is a great place to learn, if one can get passed all the "great shot" empty critiques.

Thanks David, that point was definitely brought home to me when I printed the shot (10x15). I was trying not to blow out the clouds and show the tiny patch of blue sky (we hardly saw any on the trip) - guess I was asking a little much from the sensor's dynamic range hey?

I can't believe this has no comments - it's a lovely action shot. Sharp features on the dog, lovely water capture, good colour. Very nicely done.

That is really beautiful, the fisheye effect makes it appear even more surreal. Hopefully I'll witness this for myself one day, and do half as good a job capturing it as you have.
