nicely seen pattern. seen it myself many times and now you've got me itching to go on vacation again. kevin, why wait till summer? unless of course you're in the midwest or east coast but then there's always ice diving and dry suits. 8)

Tank you for sharing. As a certified diver, I have extra appreciation for this shot. I like the uniformity (patterns), yet the numbers on the tanks are different enough to remove the consistency to the image.
Makes me want to go diving again, but not until Summer

Vince, thanks. I guess it looks different on different monitors... I need to remember to try looking at my photos with varying settings. Although the image itself does have a big bright sun in it!

I like getting to enjoy YOUR hard work here. Your patience will usually pay off like this. I would recommend either toning down the density or contrast some. The sun is sooo bright and big here that it is actually uncomfortable to look at. Otherwise, a very nice image!

I knew right where this was taken the moment I saw the thumbnail. One of my favorite exhibits ever! Very nice picture! Great colors! I took several shots at the same aquarium, and none of mine turned out this nice.

Thanks for the nice comments! The Monterey Bay Aquarium has this fantastic exhibit of jellyfish right now that has many many different kinds - even some tanks with ornate gilt frames around them to resemble gallery art!
The background is clear because the way the tanks are constructed and lit you can't even see the edges. I took many pictures, quite a few were blurry due to the long exposure times but there are a few more nice ones. I'd be happy to send them to anyone who is interested.

When I go to the coast, I love looking for jellyfish. They're so bizarre and wonderful. I've tried taking pictures, but I've never been able to get so close. This is wonderful! Is this the only shot you took? I think it might be interesting to see a jellyfish in motion too. Also, is that the actual background? It's remarkably clean (as in free from other elements).

I think it is amazing that you could get this kind of shot through the glass at an aquarium! They are always so dark. But you really captured a great shot here! Nice.
