Very nice capture here. The crop is perfect for me. I don't think centering the road would improve it. However I would have rotated very slightly anticlockwise to get the trees vertical even if thats the way they really are.

Beautiful macro. If you have a moment, take a look at my "Ant Picnic". I am not asking for a rating, just for you to compare the shots of a similar flower. Regards...

Very nice composition here. The contrast of the colors is very striking. The crop leaves me wondering a bit about the choice of crop and makes me want to know what the whole building looks like. I think the crop is fine but I'm curious about whats missing.

Hi Marleen,

I really like the picture. I think I personally would crop more of the top, so the sun and its rays stand out more. Now the brightness of the sky above the sun take away from it, I think. And, I just can't help it, I don't like the dark frame.

I think it is difficult to make a good photo of a flower. As so many have been made already. So I suppose that putting a flower in a different context or picking out an angle or detail that makes it so beautifull.

With this photo there is a good thing, which is the use of the diagonal in the right side of the photo.

Two things I like less is the fact that there is very little empty space around the flower wich makes it too tighlty framed for my tastes. And the other thing is that the stem below the flower is more iluminated than the leafs of the flower.

Overal a nice image.
Regards,
Julien

I clicked on this photo, because I liked how the tombstones look old. But the building in the background doesnt seem to fit the ages of the tombstones at all. There is a complete lack of ambianc due to the building in the background, it looks so Dutch.

Maybe the use of filters might have helped you out here. A fog filter or a spot in-color filter. Something to make the viewer focus more on the stones, and less on the building.

Also the image looks to flat, it looks well composed, but too flat. If you would have gotten closer to the tombstone in the lower right corner you might have been able to creat more distance between the tombstones and the building.

Regards,
Julien
