Tourists are confined to the balcony and can't normally go down below, David--probably the tanners would be fishing them out of the vats all the time, and not getting any leather made.

Nice, I agree about crop (less than ideal) especially on the left. But still very interesting composition.

Excellent photo, Ken. The lady in white and the lady in blue and green make a wonderful contrast on the brown, uneven wall. Thank you for your very generous comments on my "Fantasy with Rachel", my "Dramming of Vienna" (I also rarely remember my dreams, they play almost no role in my therapies and you might be right in assuming that the photos replace them) and my "Fate of our car 1." Thank you for your kind words about my "Fate of our car." As I wrote when I first posted the photos of the totalled car (not in P.S.) the car was crashed by a piece of concrete that dislocated from the wall because of a fire next door. All this happened at night, so that nobody was hurt. The car was a total loss and the insurance company paid more than we could have received for the car had we wanted to sell it. Best regards, Rafi P.S. I received the e mail you were composing while commenting on one of the above photos.

oh, I like the cropping. if the women were centered, they would not appear, as they do, to be an integral part of the landscape. powerful. good work!

These are tiny shadows under the women - considering that kind of light, this is a great tonal color shot - the wall is fab! Hansi

Gee, I'd forgotten I'd ever posed that question! Thanks for the suggestion, I'll give it a try, though I don't very often end up shooting in mist conditions around here.

Hi Ken, I have been experimenting too with mist lighting conditions. After having read about it here and there, I think the only reasonable thing to do is to use an exposure correction (no PS at all). You'll have to find out the appropriate correction as I have to do myself. You'll see in my small portfolio, I tend to use around +1.5 stops exposure correction in those conditions. I have tried +2 too, but that is a bit too much for color negative film and the print afterwards. With diapositive you could try though as that can accommodate a larger contrast.
