Hello, Keith, You'v got really sharp eyes for good subjects. The composition is humorous, while thoughtful. I like it very much.

Hi, Derek, Nice shot! I'm living in Toronto, and I guess it is time for me to catch some colors of the fall too! I like this composition, and I also agree with Kim's suggestions. A wider lens, a different angle, put something at the foreground... It is a very photogenic scene, and certainly worth of your going back and taking more shots!

It IS a natural and beautiful pose, and the flash bounced off the wall is okay. What I'd like to improve is the shadow behind her back. Keeping away from the backdrop can help. Anyways, a job well done... keep on with the good work!

Hi Cecilia, Nice work with Photoshop! The blurring is perfect! I'v got to try that myself next time But I have to say I do prefer the low contrast in the first image. The softness of the image and the ballerina girl were perfect match. I am experimenting color filter technique with Photoshop, following the real color filter principles. Take this picture for example, I first enhance the spectrum range of red (like using a red filter), then I convert it to B&W. This is still just a rough experiement design. I'm afraid I'v missed something there, because I'v tried a couple of times but the results were not satisfying. Any suggestion?

A lovely portrait. But I do feel the foot on the right is a little disturbing. A narrower DOF will be able to blur it more, and draw the attention completely to the subject. Also, the sun-tanned lower arms are a little too contrasty to the upper arms. I had this problem too in some of my pictures. I'm wondering if any color filter can solve this problem (maybe a red one?)

This is the first image I'v ever seen that was taken of buildings with infrared film. I thought infrared was for landscape only... I like the softness of the light refected from the floor. Most infrared landscape images creat dramatic effects with high contrast. However, this one created a poetic atmosphere. Love it... I think I will have to try infrared too!

I'm not familiar with the camera you use. The lens seems to be a super wide angle lens, while I can hardly see any distortion in the picture. Did you crop the image or something else? I like to see when people argue about the choice of aperature. It is partly due to my low taste , and partly due to the fact that both sides are right in most cases. And I can learn from different points of view of the same picture.

At the first look at it, I thought "a nice abstract!" After looking at it longer, I start to think there's complexity behind the apparent simplicity. The four birds pose themselves differently, which is hard to capture.

Another example of kids in the eye of adults. Whenever I see a picture like this, I always think what it would look like if we get down on our knees and lower the camera... then we might catch more details of the kids' faces...

It is a perfect portrait. But I don't think it fits into this category. She is "by herself", but I don't feel she is "alone".
