Hi Trish, Thanks for your kind comments. Jonah is a natural model (well most of the time). I asked him to look up, then down, then to the left and right - all the time keeping the shutter moving. I shot this with a green screen and natural light. I get mixed results with the green screen (sometimes I get bleeding of green onto the subject, a common trait). Thanks again and keep the great photos coming. Cheers! Sam

Hi Kim, I like the concept in this one, but here on usefilm, the background is white and the framing is lost... I wonder how it would look with the slightest frame... Cheers! Sam

Luis, Thank you for your thoughtful comments - much appreciated. Even some people here in Grand Rapids have commented on it. One person asked me where it was? Of course, it is many places combined... Cheers! Sam

Hi Tiffany, I like the composition and the idea of the shot very much. The lighting is dream-like and wonderful! I would have preferred to see a bit more in-focus on the boys face (at least some crisp eyes). For me, the shot is fanstic - with a bit too much softness on your sons face (my 2 cents)... Keep 'em coming. Cheers! Sam

Hi Judi, I would agree that this is a moody scene... To me it seems a bit closed in on the boat... I would like to see more water in the image... The color is rich and inviting! Cheers! Sam

Hi Judi, I like the image very much. You have an eye for composition and color. Well done. As to the presentation, I have been thinking about it much lately... When I saw this image as a thunbnail, it looked washed out - mostly due to the blending of the edges with the white background here on usefilm. Framed, this shot has more impact (IMHO). The reduction of size and compression needed here is also a point of dismay at times. Some images are more vulnerable to the compression than others. I'm still searching for the best all around approach to compression and 'matting' for web presentation... Cheers! Sam

Simple, BW, and beautiful! For me, the softness adds to a classic sense and feel - making it more arty and painterly. Well done. Cheers! Sam

Well, I like the crop just fine. Cropping is part of the overall composition and statement by the photographer. If you intent is to show the installation that's one thing, others might go in tighter, but will lose context. At first, I was unsure about the edges (bottom and right), but the overall impression comes from the compelling pose and beauty of the model. Well done. Sam

Hi Elena, I didn't see the original - I like this version. I like the inclusion of textures such as scratches - for me it adds depth and interest (what a good photography should have). Well done. Cheers! Sam
