Well captured Hunter. The image is a tad soft and, having seen this group perform countless times I would suggest that the crisp focus eluded you largely due to the shutter speed. I would have thought about 1/1000sec - if not even faster. I have talked to the pilots on ocassion . . . last time about 30 years ago...and they are/were a great group of guys. They used to drive classic Thunderbirds out to their aircrafts.
The other thing I would suggest (in my opinion) is a bit more space in the composition. Above and below, as well as in front . . . the front space would give the whole composition more tension and dynamic energy.
